Your Role as Finance Data Analyst

We're looking for a Finance Data Analyst to join our team of problem-solvers, innovators, and coffee enthusiasts. You'll be the backbone of our financial analysis efforts, ensuring everything runs smoother than a freshly buttered slide. Your superpower? Turning raw financial data into actionable insights that make our clients say, "Wow, why didn't we think of that?"

Key Responsibilities

• Financial Analysis & Modeling: Scrub and analyze large datasets (e.g., SaaS billing data) to calculate churn rate, new ARR, expansion revenue, and contraction revenue.
• Reporting & Forecasting: Review existing reports and financial models, compare forecasts with actuals, and identify performance gaps. Maintain forecast models and analyze data to inform pricing models.
• Collaboration & Integrity: Work closely with the TLVP team and clients, handling confidential data with honesty and integrity. Use tools like Zoom, Slack, and Asana for remote collaboration.

Financial Operations & Reporting

• Perform daily/weekly bank reconciliations with precision, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and discrepancies resolved promptly.
• Maintain meticulous bookkeeping records across all accounts, adhering to accounting standards and company policies.
• Prepare monthly management accounts with insightful commentary on financial performance.
• Conduct variance analysis comparing actuals vs. budgets/forecasts, highlighting trends and recommending corrective actions.

Planning & Forecasting

• Collaborate with leadership to build annual budgets, aligning financial plans with strategic goals.
• Develop rolling financial forecasts using historical data and market insights to guide decision-making.
• Transform raw data into actionable reports, identifying opportunities for cost optimization or revenue growth.

Systems & Tools

• Leverage advanced Excel (PivotTables, Macros, VLOOKUP) to automate reporting and analyze large datasets efficiently.
• Utilize SaaS fin ops tools (HubSpot, ChartMogul) to streamline revenue tracking, subscription metrics, and financial operations.
• Continuously improve financial processes by integrating new technologies or tools.

Stakeholder Support

• Partner with department heads to explain budget variances and provide data-driven recommendations.
• Support audits by preparing documentation and addressing queries with accuracy.
• Train team members on financial tools or reporting best practices as needed.

Requirements

Must-Have Qualifications

• A problem-solver with a knack for thinking outside the box (and sometimes dismantling the box entirely).
• Highly numerate with a strong analytical mindset.
• Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets, including pivot tables, index/match, and other functions for working with large datasets.
• Good understanding of financial statements and key SaaS accounting concepts.
• Excellent written English skills for effective remote collaboration.
