We are seeking a DevOps Middleware Engineer to join a motivated, enthusiastic, and committed team dedicated to mastering complex challenges in banking operations with Avaloq. As part of our journey to the cloud, we are expanding our microservices infrastructure to optimize availability and scalability.

Your key tasks

  • Declare infrastructure components in Terraform across Oracle, GPC, AWS, MS Azure, and private cloud environments.
  • Utilize current technologies and tools to continuously improve and automate system operations.
  • Set up, operate, monitor, and maintain systems to deliver our services.
  • Participate in ITSM lifecycle tasks, including performance, service, change, asset, incident, and problem management.
  • Take part in on-call duties.
  • Administer and configure web application servers.
  • Develop automation and monitoring scripts.
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with Terraform for scalable deployment processes.
  • Investigate issues and troubleshoot problems.
  • Contribute to the design, documentation, implementation, and administration of enterprise applications.
  • Manage middleware refreshes and patching.
  • Collaborate with specialists across domains for cross-functional activities.
  • Handle L2/L3 support tickets with third-party suppliers.
  • Participate in on-call rotations (24/7) and shifts.
About you
  • Degree in computer science or equivalent IT training/experience.
  • Good Linux knowledge; Windows experience is a plus.
  • Understanding of network protocols and architectures (TCP/IP, MPLS, peering, hub & spoke).
  • Hands-on experience with at least one cloud provider, preferably Oracle.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (Ansible, Terraform, Git).
  • Strong CI/CD experience (Jenkins, GitHub, CloudInit).
  • Basic software development knowledge.
  • Ability to analyze technical problems and automate administrative tasks.
  • Experience with J2EE application servers (JBoss, WebLogic, Tomcat).
  • Knowledge of secure data transfer topics (SFTP, Queue Management).
  • Understanding of SSL and digital certificates.
  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent teamwork, communication skills, and customer focus.
  • Enthusiasm and passion for the role.
  • Proficiency in English.
