Job Description:

  • Comply with all role and project specific SHEQ obligations.
  • Promote the continual improvement of best practice OHS&E and Quality systems and behaviours.
  • Coach others in the identification and management of ethical issues associated with area of work or practice area.
  • Maintain Engineers Australia Chartered status or equivalent.
  • As a technical leader proactively maintain effective networks and relevant industry relationships to support business and client outcomes.
  • Participation in company development initiative, such as the Professional Associate Program and/or PANs.
  • Proactively seek information from lead country project team to understand client needs and effectively anticipate and meet project needs including coordination with other disciplines.
  • Provide technical review of work performed by the team.
  • Promote a culture of technical excellence within the team.
  • Review and verify engineering drawings and reports.
  • Provide expert technical input to a diverse range of projects in line with quality system and client requirements.
  • Ensure Safety in Design is implemented in line with project requirements.
  • Provides inputs to project scope, time and cost development. Coaches others in managing competing demands.
  • Provide technical leads on multiple projects of varying complexity and size.
  • Implements project quality and risk management systems.
  • Implements project communications and integration systems.
  • Mentor junior engineers in technical, project delivery and client relationships.
  • Recognize the achievements and success of individuals and the team.
  • Assist team managers and executives in the selection and recruitment of employees.
Job Requirements:
  • Bachelors Degree (Engineering) or Equivalent.
  • Chartered status CPENG or equivalent (if applicable).
  • Management Training.
  • Typically 10-15 years tunnel experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in a consultancy environment.
  • Demonstrated competence in providing key technical expertise across a broad range of high-profile projects.
  • Competent in managing risk on substantial projects.
  • High level skills in applying Safety in Design practices and processes.
  • Demonstrated multiple instances of delivering best client outcomes/options which have saved the client costs/time.
  • Established a recognised profile within industry associations e.g. Active involvement in shaping the industry.
  • Competent in monitoring and managing the scope of multiple projects of varying complexity and size.
  • Prepares and reviews high level and complex technical reports.
  • Extensive experienced in applying QA and OH&S systems.
  • Experience in supervising graduates and managing engineers and senior engineers.
  • Strong experience in client relationships.
  • Built technical capability of others (training & mentoring) and transferred technical expertise within the organisation.
  • Proficiency with the following software:
    • Bluebeam Revu
    • Projectwise
    • Autodesk (Revit & Autodesk Construction Cloud)
    • Bentley Microstation (also OBM & OBD)
    • Other BIM software (such as Revizto and Navisworks)
    • Modelling software such as UDEC, 3DEC, RS2, STRAND7 and Leapfrog
