Responsibilities

  • Senior member of the BECIS Philippines finance team reporting to the Finance Director - FP&A, and supporting the Philippines MD, and leadership teams to drive financial and operational decision-making of all the projects and entities.
  • Preparation and review of annual statutory audited financial statements in accordance with both IFRS (Group reporting) and local accounting standards (local reporting) within the timeline.
  • Timely and accurate preparation and review of monthly management accounts (both operational and financial information where applicable) for BECIS Philippines entities, including comparison to plan, with supporting commentary and narrative as required.
  • Responsible for the preparation of periodic forecasts and annual budget submissions.
  • Preparation of cash flow and monitoring of cash position. Optimize cash flow management and ensure appropriate controls are in place to ensure funds are invested properly.
  • Preparation of capital expenditure reports and analysis, and other ad hoc reporting as required.
  • Drive and work with the Philippines Leadership Team in setting the strategic direction of the country in alignment with BECIS strategy.
  • Support any Debt Financing requirements.
  • Lead & manage the local finance teams to deliver per the teams' tasks & targets.
  • Contribute & support the BECIS Finance Leadership team on Group Finance deliveries.
  • Oversee and manage the Annual Audit processes locally, interim audit processes & internal audit processes.
  • Ownership of internal financial policies and procedures within the Philippines, ensuring full alignment with Group. Continual review and development of these to ensure adequate financial discipline and control in the business.
  • This role will be the key contact point for all country Tax related matters across the portfolio and will work hand in hand with chosen tax partners, and must understand local GST/VAT/WHT compliance procedures and ensure adherence by all entities.
  • Responsible for all matters related to the incorporation of the new project entities.
  • Responsible for ensuring that the project entities compile robust annual business plans (budgets) and deliver per the AOP process & deadlines.
  • Control and manage the capitalization process for the new projects, close monitoring of the project cost spent and reporting of the Actual vs AOP comparison along with the detailed commentary on a timely basis. Implementation of appropriate procedures to ensure correct classification of operating costs between Capex and Opex and compliance with IFRS.
  • Provide financial modeling support to the project entities to support the sales/deal team in preparing the pricing offer for the prospective customers. Also support the country MD and senior leadership of the project team in pricing discussions with the prospective customers.
  • Manage the control and upkeep of the company's financial systems. Ensure the system is up to date and has the ability to support the business needs. Any upgrades or replacements need to be carefully managed and delivered on time with no effect on the local business.
  • Responsible for managing, developing and mentoring the finance teams of the project companies.

Qualifications:

  • Finance professional qualification with minimum 10+ years' (post qualification) previous finance and accounting experience, ideally with significant commercial/industry experience.
  • Professionally Qualified with one of the Accounting Bodies.
  • Corporate tax & VAT knowledge is essential.
  • Basic knowledge in matters related to incorporation of Foreign entities and regulations.
  • Preference for candidates that have acted as financial controllers for energy, infrastructure, construction or manufacturing businesses.
  • Proven track record of delivering results and meeting customer expectations.
  • Fluency in English (written and oral) is essential.
  • General IT and network administration skills an advantage.
