Finance & Cost Control Head – Major Construction Contractor

Our client is one of the leading Philippine EPC Contractors with a strong focus on Civil & Marine Infrastructure and Industrial Maintenance & Facility Management projects across the nation. With the continued success and growth of the corporation, they are seeking an experienced Finance & Cost Control Head to support the successful execution of their projects.

Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer, the Finance & Cost Controls Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing all cost control activities within our client. This role involves ensuring that projects are completed within budget and that all financial aspects of projects are monitored, controlled and reported.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in cost management within the construction industry and will play a key role in financial planning, project management, and cost optimization.

The Key Responsibilities can be summarized as follows:

  • Cost Control
  • Budgeting & Forecasting
  • Compliance

To succeed in this role, we seek:

  • Bachelor degree in Engineering, Accounting or Finance with advanced degrees like MSc Finance, Master of Accounting or MBA being well regarded.
  • Professional certifications like the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) are preferred but NOT Mandatory.
  • At least 15 years of overall experience, with 10 of them in leadership positions in cost control, budgeting, and financial management within the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of construction accounting, project financing, and cost management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on cost optimization and risk management.
  • Expertise in financial planning, budgeting, and risk management.
  • Proficient in financial management software and tools.
  • Proficient in cost management software, financial modeling, and project management tools.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction project management, including contract administration, procurement, and resource allocation.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
  • Knowledge of local tax laws, accounting regulations, and financial reporting requirements.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
