US Finance Controller

Summary:

We are seeking a seasoned professional to take full ownership of our Client's financial operations. This role will involve overseeing financial reporting, streamlining existing processes, enhancing internal controls, and ensuring our accounting practices scale with our business growth. The ideal candidate will also possess strong expertise in inventory management, cash flow management, rental billing processes, managing accounts payable and receivable, and working closely with external advisors on tax and strategic matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Oversight:
    • Direct all aspects of the accounting function, including month-end and year-end closings, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
    • Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and regulatory requirements.
  • Process Improvement & Optimization:
    • Assess and evaluate current accounting systems and workflows, identifying areas for increased efficiency and modernization.
    • Develop and implement streamlined processes and upgraded technologies to support both sales and recurring rental revenue streams.
  • Inventory Management:
    • Oversee accurate tracking, valuation, and reconciliation of inventory for both equipment sales and rental assets.
    • Collaborate with operations and supply chain teams to forecast inventory needs, optimize levels, and ensure efficient stock management.
  • Cash Flow Management:
    • Monitor daily cash flow operations to ensure sufficient liquidity for business operations.
    • Develop and maintain robust cash flow forecasting models and strategies to optimize working capital.
  • Rental Billing Processes:
    • Evaluate and streamline the rental billing process to ensure timely, accurate invoicing for recurring rental contracts.
    • Collaborate with operations to ensure seamless integration of rental revenue data into overall financial systems.
  • Accounts Payable & Receivable Management:
    • Oversee and manage the full cycle of accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely and accurate processing of vendor payments and customer invoicing.
    • Implement process improvements to optimize cash flow and reduce errors in AP/AR functions.
  • Internal Controls & Compliance:
    • Enhance internal control procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure the accuracy of financial data.
    • Liaise with external auditors and regulatory bodies to ensure timely and effective audits.
  • Tax Strategy & External Collaboration:
    • Work closely with a CPA to review financials, implement tax planning strategies, and lower overall tax liability.
    • Stay informed on tax regulations and ensure proactive compliance and strategic tax positioning.
  • Warehouse & Personal Expense Reconciliation:
    • Reconcile the financial records for our warehouse operations, ensuring accurate reporting as we are an owner-user.
    • Manage and reconcile the owner's personal expenses as part of the overall financial oversight.
  • Strategic Financial Analysis:
    • Provide actionable insights and financial analysis to support strategic decision-making by the executive team.
    • Monitor key performance indicators and prepare comprehensive reports that drive business performance.
  • Team Leadership & Collaboration:
    • Transition accounting operations from a legacy single-handler model to a robust, scalable function, with potential team expansion.
    • Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure seamless financial integration and operational efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of BS Accountancy, preferably CPA with 5+ years' experience as a Controller.
  • Must be knowledgeable in US GAAP & IFRS.
  • Prior experience in managing US clients/US transactions.
  • Prior experience with Cash Accounting.
  • Highly analytical, solutions-oriented and see the "big picture."
  • Excellent technical, verbal, and written communication skills to explain results and proposals across varying levels of experience within the organization.
  • With experience in Quickbooks Online.
  • Must have prior experience in BPO / Shared Service Industry.
  • Amenable to work US hours/night shift and holidays.
  • Amenable to work in Alabang, Muntinlupa City once we return to the office.
