The Project Officer will be responsible for overseeing the technical design, engineering, and construction aspects of real estate development projects. This role requires a deep understanding of building systems, construction methodologies, and regulatory requirements. The Project Officer will collaborate closely with architects, engineers, contractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Additionally, the Project Officer will play a critical role in post-construction resolution, ensuring that any issues are promptly addressed and resolved to maintain client satisfaction and project integrity.
KEY FUNCTIONS/DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Design and Engineering Oversight:
Review and approve architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) designs to ensure compliance with building codes, regulations, and company standards.
Identify and resolve technical issues during the design and construction phases, ensuring that solutions are practical, cost-effective, and aligned with project objectives.
Construction Management:
Collaborate with construction managers and contractors to ensure that technical specifications are accurately implemented on-site.
Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality, and compliance with design intent and regulatory requirements.
Post-Construction Resolution:
Oversee the post-construction phase, including the resolution of any defects, deficiencies, or issues identified during the final inspection by clients.
Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure timely and effective resolution of post-construction issues.
Develop and implement a comprehensive post-construction resolution plan, including warranty management and client follow-up to ensure long-term satisfaction.
Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure that all projects comply with local, state, and building codes, zoning regulations, and environmental standards.
Liaise with regulatory authorities and obtain necessary permits and approvals.
Reporting and Stakeholder Communication
Provide regular progress updates to the FAI Technical Head on defect rectification and closeout status
Prepare reports detailing key findings, resolutions, and recommendations for process improvement.
EDUCATION, TRAININGS, LICENSES REQUIRED:
Bachelor's degree in civil or electrical engineering, or a related field.
3+ years of experience in construction management, post-construction closeout, or real estate development.
Professional licensure (Civil or Electrical engineer) is preferred.
Experience in building maintenance, defect resolution, and turnover processes is an advantage.
