The Safety Officer is responsible for ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety standards in the workplace. A nursing graduate, the Safety Officer is equipped to provide both preventive safety measures and immediate medical response during workplace incidents. The role requires conducting regular inspections, implementing health and safety programs, and fostering a safe working environment for all employees.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and monitor compliance with Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) programs in accordance with DOLE standards.
  • Conduct safety inspections, risk assessments, and hazard identification to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Provide first aid and basic medical treatment to employees in case of emergencies.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate documentation such as incident reports, safety logs, and compliance records.
  • Facilitate safety training and awareness sessions for employees and subcontractors.
  • Ensure availability and proper usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Investigate and recommend corrective actions for accidents, near-misses, and unsafe practices.
  • Act as liaison with government agencies (DOLE, DOH, LGU) for compliance and reporting.
  • Promote a culture of health, safety, and wellness in the organization.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) graduate
  • At least 3 years of experience as a Safety Officer in manufacturing industries.
  • With BOSH / COSH Certification (DOLE-accredited).
  • Knowledgeable in DOLE-OSH standards, workplace safety protocols, and emergency response procedures.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
