Job Summary:

The
Safety Officer
is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining occupational safety and health programs to ensure compliance with DOLE, OSHC, and industry regulations. With a background in nursing, the Safety Officer not only oversees workplace safety but also provides medical support, first aid, and employee wellness initiatives. This role requires at least 5 years of professional experience in safety and health management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, implement, and monitor the company's safety and health management system in compliance
  • Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, risk assessments, and hazard identification to ensure a safe workplace.
  • Lead investigations of accidents, incidents, and near-misses, preparing reports with root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions.
  • Facilitate OSH training, toolbox meetings, orientations, and emergency drills for employees and contractors.
  • Oversee emergency preparedness programs such as fire safety, evacuation, disaster response, and crisis management.
  • Provide first aid treatment, health assessments, and medical monitoring using nursing expertise.
  • Implement employee wellness initiatives including health surveillance, return-to-work clearances, and preventive health campaigns.
  • Maintain updated regulatory reports, permits, and certifications for compliance with DOLE, BWC, OSHC, and other agencies.
  • Act as the liaison officer during government inspections, audits, and compliance reviews.
  • Collaborate with management to foster a culture of safety and employee well-being across the organization.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Graduate of Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); Registered Nurse (RN) is a plus
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in Occupational Safety and Health (OSH)
  • Must have Basic Occupational Safety and Health (BOSH) Training for SO2 certification.
  • Preferably with Construction Occupational Safety and Health (COSH)
  • Knowledge of Philippine OSH standards, compliance laws, and safety regulations.
