CHE Quality Control and Maintenance and Repair Supervisor

CHE Quality Control and Maintenance and Repair Supervisor is responsible for maintaining quality assurance processes, testing of cargo handling equipment (CHE) nationwide, and ensuring proper rehabilitation for CHEs under repair. The incumbent will also supervise the Preventive Maintenance Program execution and all outsourced services to ensure compliance with the policies and procedures set by the department.

  1. Approval of Work Order and ensure there is quality testing at all times; carry out inspections to meet the standards set for CHE.
  2. Manage test schedules to ensure all operational tests are completed accurately and timely according to the department's policies and procedures.
  3. Recommend and/or implement changes to existing operational tests to increase efficiency, minimize operating expenses, or improve accuracy and timeliness of both process and system solutions.
  4. Review, approve, and maintain device history records for finished devices in the shared file nationwide. All maintenance history must be updated regularly.
  5. Adhere to Health, Safety, and Environmental Policies, keeping a healthy and safe-conscious working environment to minimize or eliminate risks exposure to personnel, company assets, and societal impacts, and be in line with applicable law requirements and company standards.
  6. Plan, organize, and monitor the activities within the CHE.
  7. Develop and maintain a DIR (Detailed Inspection Reporting) internal audit program schedule.
  8. Approval and issuance of Work Orders.
  9. Collaborate and work effectively with partner contractors and service providers.
  10. Lead, manage, and/or participate in the investigation of non-conformances in compliance with quality procedures, policies, and regulations.
  11. Achieve Quality Assurance operational objectives by monitoring and approving work orders, identifying, and addressing gaps and problems.
  12. Advise on repair activities and work order approval of CHE in branches for parts requirement and replacement.
  13. Assure performance and reliability of all CHE through fuel and engine efficiency measures.
  14. Conduct spot-checking or inspection on proper usage of cargo handling equipment as part of performance monitoring.
  15. Conduct visual inspection of cargo handling equipment due for rehabilitation and ensure delivered CHE parts are in order.
  16. Ensure that preventive maintenance schedules of cargo handling equipment are properly done and implemented by the Mechanics.
  17. Ensure that all CHE parts requested for replacement both in Manila and out ports are properly installed to the equipment.
  18. Monitor rehabilitation progress of CHE and evaluate its progress in terms of service quality and cost nationwide.
  19. Conduct investigations on incidents related to CHE and prepare analysis reports as a basis for claims nationwide.
  20. Provide recommendations on the right equipment mix in all areas of branches and agencies nationwide.
  21. Facilitate implementation of new processes.
  22. Prepare Service Cargo Requests for Approval.
  23. Prepare Fortnight module for monthly reports.
  24. Monitor nationwide CHE breakdown status and availability.
  25. Prepare the desired Key Results Area and target KPI.
  26. Analyze training needs based on CBS gaps and determine Individual Development Plans.
  27. Prepare policies and procedures as a basis of performance standards for approval.
  28. Prepare Quarterly KRAs & PMS and monthly KPI reports.
  29. Other functions as may be required.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of Mechanical Engineering course.
  • 2 to 5 years experience in engine overhauling, troubleshooting both engine and hydraulic systems.
  • 5 to 10 years extensive work experience in mobile maintenance or cargo handling equipment as maintenance supervisor or equipment inspector.
