Job Summary:

Prime System Solutions is seeking a Project Engineer to execute a variety of projects for our diverse clientele as a Managed Services Provider. This role focuses on delivering projects according to scope using Microsoft Server, M365 products, and Azure cloud services. The primary goal is to ensure client satisfaction with each solution.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist in executing IT projects, including hardware/software implementations, network upgrades, and system migrations.
  • Stage various technologies such as Desktops, Laptops, POS systems, Server hardware, and networking equipment including wireless, switches, and firewalls.
  • Install hardware at customer sites.
  • Install software, including Hypervisor technologies and OS level.
  • Support migration and operation of customer-specific applications.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers to define tasks and timelines.
  • Provide clients with updates and set realistic expectations.
  • Offer technical support during project implementations.
  • Accurately log time entries in Prime's ticketing system.
  • Create and maintain project documentation, including technical specifications and configurations.
  • Work with internal teams—senior engineers, sales, support—to ensure smooth project coordination.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management to contribute to organizational success.

Experience & Skills:

  • Basic knowledge of MS Server, including Group Policy, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP.
  • Understanding of server hardware, RAID, and iDRAC technologies.
  • Basic networking knowledge, including wireless, wired, and firewalls.
  • Basic familiarity with M365 products and services.
  • Understanding of backup processes.
  • Knowledge of Azure cloud technologies and virtualization, including VMware ESXi and MS Hyper-V.
  • Bonus skills: Backup platforms like Veeam and Datto, ticketing systems.
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative, exercise independent judgment, and work effectively under pressure.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Participation in rotating on-call schedules.
  • Ability to act as a trusted advisor, communicating effectively with non-technical clients.
  • Adaptability to changing environments and managing multiple demands.

Tools:

  • Server installation and support, VMware ESXi.
  • Windows Server administration, including GPOs, AD, DHCP, DNS, backup configuration, and application migrations.
  • Network setup and support, including firewalls and switches.
  • Wireless network configuration and planning.
  • M365 deployment, user migrations, Azure AD, and Azure AD Connect support.
  • MFA deployments and conditional access.
  • Intune management.
