Mid Quality Assurance Engineer

We Need

A Seasoned Investigator

Our mid quality assurance engineer is keen-eyed to spot inaccuracies from a bird's-eye perspective and then swoop down fast to unravel them before the problem realises. You are very hands-on in testing and methodical problem solving regarding the business' products, as well as the development of functionality, regression, and testing solutions, and the development of test plans for both existing and new products.

You're never complacent with scrutinising everything as quality is something that should be checked continuously throughout the process, not just at the end. You actively take part in the discovery and design phases of new product feature development and promote continuous testing in an attempt to guarantee an error-free final product.

You act as the glue that holds the engineering and product teams together, collaboratively working together throughout the life cycle of our products. As someone who has years of experience, you will be working to set scalable strategies in the team and create an environment for QA engineers to thrive.

Note: This is an initial 6-month contract, with the opportunity to transition to a full-time role subject to performance.

You Will…

• Own quality, think critically, and test creatively: Perform comprehensive functional and non-functional testing to uncover subtle issues, assess user experience, and validate behavior across multiple scenarios, ensuring deliverables meet user requirements and design specifications.

• Collaborate cross-functionally: Work closely with other QA engineers, PMs, designers, and engineers to ensure high-quality feature delivery in a fast-paced agile SaaS environment with flexibility and composure, ensuring testing remains aligned with evolving product needs.

• Design effective test cases: Analyse acceptance criteria to craft test cases with maximum coverage and edge-case consideration, using tools like JIRA for ticket tracking, Xray for test management, and Swagger for API checks.

• Report issues clearly: Identify, document, and track bugs, providing actionable feedback to engineers, PMs, and designers to support rapid resolution.

• Be a process advocate: Act as a key liaison to the QA Manager and support Senior QA engineers in shaping testing strategies, improving team processes, and embedding quality into all stages of the software development lifecycle.

• Mentor and support: Guide junior QA engineers by sharing knowledge, offering feedback, and modeling best practices in manual testing and team communication.

• Communicate proactively: Keep stakeholders updated on testing status, risks, and blockers, and collaborate effectively to meet release deadlines.

• Contribute to future automation efforts: While manual testing remains the core focus, bring an initiative-driven mindset and a willingness to learn tools like Robot Framework or Selenium to support long-term quality initiatives.

• Shift options: 11:00 AM - 8:00 PM; 1:00 PM - 10:00 PM

• Hybrid schedule with an office in Ayala, Makati

You Should Have…

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a similar field.

• A hands-on QA background with ideally more than 3 years in manual testing.

• Experience with agile development styles and finding scalable solutions to fit in to team processes

• Be a strong leader with experience in implementing and shaping a company's QA processes and strategies

• A focus on continuous QA improvements including usage of appropriate testing tools and test techniques

• Strong communication skills with all the key stakeholders to ensure QA vision is understood and implemented correctly.

• You have experience working with engineers, and have a decent understanding of web tech stacks (backend, frontend, and everything in between).

• Attention to detail ensures all your tasks are completed to the business' specifications. It prevents tasks from needing to be redone or revised to meet requirements later.

• Problem-solving skills help you find solutions if you are struggling to meet the required quality standards. A combination of creativity, logic and critical thinking can serve you well when challenges arise in your duties.

• Experience in using Robot Framework or Selenium

• Previous experience in a startup environment.

• Experience working with a remote team.
