About the Role: Specialist, Event Operations

The Team:

The Marketing Events department at S&P Global Market Intelligence is dedicated to delivering exceptional event experiences that align with our brand strategy and business objectives. Responsibilities and Impact:

  • Oversee structured sourcing events ensuring compliance and integrity in the RFP process while identifying opportunities for process improvement.
  • Manage the contract inbox and contracts review process. Implement process automation to streamline contract management.
  • Manage process to submit invoices and purchase requisitions (PRs) in Ariba and manage credit card expenses in Concur leveraging automation to optimize these processes.
  • Collaborate with procurement and legal for effective contract management and vendor selection, aligning decisions with S&P Global Responsible Procurement missions.
  • Assist in vendor onboarding and support the monthly marketing close by partnering with Finance to manage accruals and journal entries.
  • Prepare and present marketing budget forecasts, reporting, and analysis related to the annual budget and monthly estimate process, incorporating process improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
  • Work with the global marketing team to ensure all invoices are submitted on time and maintain the event management system.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement Initiatives to enhance financial management efficiency and achieve cost-saving results through continuous improvement initiatives and process automation.

What We're Looking for:

Qualifications:

  • Fluent in English with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with financial management tools (e.g., Ariba, Concur, Smartsheet) is essential.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Knowledge of automation tools and techniques for process improvement.
  • Professional certifications in finance, procurement, or project management can be an added advantage.
  • Experience with managing complex budgets and financial forecasting.
  • Will follow US-based hours / night shifts.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in event operations or project management within a corporate environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
  • Experience working in a global team environment and managing cross-functional projects.
  • Knowledge of supplier diversity, environmental, and human rights considerations in procurement.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and efficiency.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proactive and adaptable to change.
