This is a part-time (approx 10-15hrs per week), 100% work from home, Independent Contractor role for someone based in the Manila metro market.

The company: You'll be working with a rapidly growing, fruit-forward New Zealand based desserts business. They're a dessert business with meaning - they revalue premium fruits into delicious desserts; offering allergen-friendly options (lactose free, gluten free, dairy free, halal) that everyone can enjoy

They currently have strong nationwide presence in New Zealand's supermarket retail and food service with amazing customers like Air New Zealand and are expanding into Australia

Job role: The part-time Bookkeeper will be responsible for managing day-to-day financial transactions, including accounts payable and receivable, purchase order (PO) processing, bank reconciliations, and end-of-month financial reporting.

The client is in an exciting growth phase where teamwork and strategy sessions are constant and new ideas are always buzzing. With their recent expansion into Australia, they're looking for an enthusiastic Bookkeeper to help maintain accounts and support our team through this exciting growth phase.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in Xero bookkeeping, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work independently in a dynamic environment.

In this role you will manage:

  • Financial Management & Reporting: Maintain accurate financial records, reconcile accounts, and ensure compliance with accounting principles
  • Accounts Payable & Receivable: Process invoices, purchase orders, payments, and credit notes while tracking outstanding balances
  • Bank Reconciliations: Reconcile bank and credit card statements monthly
  • Sales Data & Support: Keep sales data up to date, process purchase orders, and liaise with manufacturers
  • End-of-Month Close: Prepare financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and submissions to FSNI and FSSI
  • Payroll Processing: Manage weekly payroll and PAYE submissions
  • Cash Flow & Budgeting: Assist with forecasting, budgeting, and cost analysis to support financial planning
  • Client & Supplier Onboarding: Maintain pricing data sheets and coordinate with vendors and suppliers
  • Inventory Management: Support stock control and cost-of-goods analysis
  • Ad Hoc Projects: Assist with audits, investor reporting, and other bookkeeping tasks as needed
About you:
  • Legally eligible to work in the Philippines
  • Strong fluency in verbal and written English
  • As an independent contractor, you must have your own laptop / computer and secure, high speed internet access
  • 4+ years of experience in a generalist Bookkeeping role in a similar setting
  • Expertise in Xero accounting software; Xero certification required
  • Bonus points: experience within the food distribution industry (or similar)
  • Bonus points: experience working with small, start-up businesses
