SENIOR IT PROJECT MANAGER (Cyber Security)

The core purpose of the Senior IT Project Manager role is to manage the end-to-end delivery of internal global technology projects. The role is responsible for mitigating delivery risk to the organization through ensuring that the solutions we implement meet expected business outcomes, are fit for purpose, future proofed and are ready to be supported. In this role, you will take ownership of the entire IT delivery lifecycle as a Delivery Owner / Scrum Master. You will lead and oversee a squad of up to 10 team members, ensuring successful execution of concurrent projects and work items. This role will lead the Cyber Defense and Protection squad, tasked with delivering solutions and remediations to strengthen Aurecon's security posture.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Deliver IT projects to support structured framework/methodology with focus on the following key elements:
2. Project Management:

• Project Leadership and Oversight: Owning the entire IT delivery lifecycle, from project initiation to closure (including Agile delivery).
• Adherence to project delivery frameworks.
• Manage gates/checkpoints.
• Status reporting, Deliverables and sign-offs.
• Defining project scope, timelines, budget, and success criteria.
• Scrum of Scrums and Governance Forums as required (Steering Committee, etc.).
• Detailed Planning: Coordinate schedule creation with project team/collect key activities.
• Accountability and Responsibility in the Ways of Working Evolution: Sprint Plan, Standups, Backlog Refinement, Showcase, Retrospective, etc.

Stakeholder Management & Communication:

• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills with an ability to adapt to the needs of the team and stakeholders.
• Strong narrative, context setting and story-telling ability.

Risk/Issue Management:

• Regular Risk reviews.
• Weekly Risk and Issue management.

Scope Management:

• Clear definition of scope, requirements, that is reviewed and signed-off as per delivery framework.
• Management of scope change throughout project using change control process.

Cost Management.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor or Master's degree in Information Technology, Business or related field.
• Project Management Qualifications (Prince 2, PMBOK).
• 10+ years as a Project Manager or equivalent to Senior PM.
• Mandatory: Experience working with key Cyber Security frameworks, including:
  • NIST
  • Essential 8
  • ISO 27001
• Cyber Security Domain Project experience – Technologies:
  • Network End Point Protection
  • Server monitoring
  • Standards compliance
  • Network monitoring
  • Vulnerability management
  • Email security and management
  • SIEM ingestion (Sentinel)
• Toolsets including:
  • ZIA
  • MS Defender Suite
  • SIEM (Sentinel)
  • Mimecast
• Advanced Project Management Methodologies: In-depth knowledge and ability to tailor them to project specifics, particularly Agile delivery.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills including negotiation and influencing skills.
• Very strong Stakeholder Management able to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels to ensure clear communication, manage expectations, and build strong working relationships.
• Strong experience and exposure to Agile/Scrum framework.
• Experience leading Enterprise level rollouts/deployments or Projects.
• A technical generalist awareness across core enterprise technologies.
• Strong commercial acumen – experienced in negotiating and driving project outcomes through preferred suppliers/partners.
• Understanding of IT systems, how they relate and interact.
• Mentoring & coaching project team members – experience uplifting capability and quality of delivery/championing project management disciplines.
• Ability to lead dispersed and diverse technology teams to deliver continuous value for customers.
• Disciplined approach to planning, budgeting, execution, monitoring activities against plan and financial reconciliation.
• Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders and drive stakeholders to deliver on committed outcomes.
• Proven ability to consult and facilitate discussions regarding alternative approaches and to broker consensus across stakeholder teams.
• Able to create effective team environments for people to innovate and learn.
