Job Description:

This Operational Risk & Resilience Oversight Manager role reports directly to the Head of ORRO Governance & Risk Program Oversight. As part of the second line of defense in the Independent Risk Management function, you will support the first line of defense businesses to ensure effective use of operational risk management tools. You will work across multiple businesses, functions, and geographies to promote awareness of risks and controls, ensuring alignment with our risk appetite.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of operational risk and resilience strategies, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

  • Provide strategic direction and leadership to cross-functional teams to enhance operational risk management and resilience capabilities.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including senior management, to ensure effective communication and collaboration on risk and resilience matters.

  • Present complex risk assessments and reports to executive leadership in a clear and concise manner.

  • Oversee the identification, assessment, and management of operational risks across the organization.

  • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies and controls to minimize potential impacts on business operations.

  • Lead the development and execution of crisis management and business continuity plans to ensure organizational resilience.

  • Coordinate and conduct regular resilience testing and simulations to prepare the organization for potential disruptions.

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies related to operational risk and resilience.

  • Develop and maintain policies and procedures to support effective risk management practices.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational risk and resilience processes and tools.

  • Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging risks to proactively adapt strategies and practices.

  • Utilize strong analytical and decision-making skills to address complex risk issues and develop effective solutions.

  • Lead problem-solving efforts to address operational challenges and improve resilience outcomes.

Qualifications:

  • Broad knowledge of financial services and insurance business, along with related products.

  • Minimum of five (5) years in operational risk management or related fields such as audit or compliance.

  • Strong understanding of operational processes, risks, and controls.

  • Experience with independent control design assessment and evaluating operating effectiveness.

  • Strong professional skepticism and detail orientation with excellent analytical and critical thinking skills.

  • Ability to quickly understand business processes and their risk implications, analyze complex situations, and make valuable and practical recommendations.

  • Results-oriented with a focus on quality, delivering value, and strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to balance priorities and meet deadlines.

  • Solid written and oral communication skills.

  • Strong influencing skills to build effective relationships within and across divisions.

  • High proficiency in MS Office Products and data analytics tools is a plus.
