Job Description

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Responsible to take active leadership in managing and upholding the Fire, Life & Safety (FL&S) in the Hotel.
  • Responsible for overseeing and managing Hotel FL&S function as follows;

Fire Prevention Plan

Fire Hazards Elimination

F&LS Systems inspection, testing and maintenance

Fire Emergency Plan

Audit and monitoring of the Emergency Response Team (ERT)
  • Ensures that the Hotel FL&S systems comply with local and national fire safety codes and regulations and that corresponding Government permits and certificates are secured.
  • Ensures that Hotel FL&S performance complies with the required Corporate Policies, Standards and Procedures.
  • Plans and implements FL&S systems inspection, testing and maintenance (ITM).
  • Establishes Fire Prevention and Emergency Response & Evacuation procedures.
  • Ensures that Fire Life & Safety training and drills are regularly and effectively implemented (Random Fire Drills/covering 3-shifts, Fire Simulation Drills and General Evacuation).

Key Areas Of Responsibilities
  • Fire Safety Management
  • Plans, organizes, leads and controls FL&S program and initiatives.
  • Completes and submits the required FL&S report.
  • Assures that all hotel employees are familiar with company's Fire Life & Safety Policies-Standards
  • Assures that there is adequate literature and clear signage-escape exits throughout the hotel in English and local language.
  • Fire Prevention
  • To establish and implement fire prevention plan to maintain high level of fire safety awareness in the hotel.
  • Fire Hazard Elimination
  • To establish fire safety inspection program to eliminate, minimize and control potential sources of fire or fire hazards.
  • To monitor fire escape routes daily for any obstruction and report any violation in writing.
  • FL&S System Inspection Testing and Maintenance
  • Conducts the FL&S System inspection, testing and maintenance program that comply with the requirements of FL&S Manual.
  • Ensures that complete inventory and documentation of FL&S System and components are available and updated on a regular basis (minimum annually).
  • To establish, update and implement the Master Plan outlining the overall activities frequency and schedule. (Update minimum annually).
  • Fire Emergency Procedure
  • To establish plan for response & communication in the event of fire emergency.
  • To establish training plan for Emergency Response Team (ERT) to fight and contain incipient fires until arrival of Fire Brigade.
  • Establishes procedure to account for all staff in the Assembly Area after emergency evacuation has been completed (in coordination with HR).
  • Others
  • Conducts safety inspections to check that FL&S standards are maintained during renovation.
  • Maintains good relationship with all relevant authorities.

RELATIONSHIP
  • Reports to Director of Engineering or Chief Engineer
  • Coordinates with all concerned Corporate personnel

Job Requirements
  • Smart appearance, pleasant disposition and articulate.
  • Oral and written fluency in English, local language and computer literate.
  • Must have at least one of the following qualification;
  • Registered, licensed or certified by state or local authority to perform fire safety engineering or certified by nationally recognized certification organization.
  • Has developed competence through on-the-job training and experience.
  • Has at least 3 years of related experience and / or training or equivalent.
  • Ability to develop, implement and coordinate comprehensive fire & life safety accident prevention programs.
  • Ability to lead and direct teams (ERT) and safety committees (Loss & Crisis Committee).
