About the role

The UI/UX Head is responsible for overseeing the design and usability of a company's products and services. In essence, the head of UI/UX is tasked with ensuring that the user experience of a product or service is intuitive, engaging, and enjoyable for the end-user. They will also spend time researching within the field, creating user scenarios to test products/services against, and collaborating with other departments to find the most effective way to improve digital experiences.

How you'll contribute:

Design Leadership and Strategy

  • Works closely with senior leadership to understand the company's goals and translate them into a design vision that is aligned with the needs of the end-users.
  • Responsible for providing design leadership to the UX team. This includes mentoring and coaching designers, providing feedback on their work, and helping them grow their skills.
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining design standards that ensure consistency across all products and services. This includes defining the visual design language, interaction patterns, and usability guidelines.
  • Works closely with the product team to ensure that the design is implemented correctly and that the end-product meets the desired user experience standards.
  • Supports project teams with project initiation and planning activities; work closely with cross-functional teams to make sure deliverables are set on a timely manner.
  • Accountable in overall team performance and deliverables
  • Adapts to the evolving needs and design standards of the organization, as well as staying updated with global design standards
  • Responsible for a consistent look and feel of the organization's digital experiences (UI) Responsible for overall Customer Behavior reporting for bankwide consumption

Analytical and Critical Thinking

  • Responsible for conducting user research to understand the needs and desires of the end-users. These research initiatives help inform the design process and ensure that the end-product meets the needs of the target audience.
  • Analyzes and interprets data gathered from user research and testing as well as existing data sources of the bank to look for UI/UX enhancement opportunities and formulate recommendations to other departments.

Project/Program Management

  • Delegates and manages UX deliverables: Prioritize and assign work to the team while ensuring deadlines are met and manageable.
  • Provides regular status reports of projects, as well as in-depth analysis to identify and recommend improvements
  • Facilitates the design process: Set and maintain team workflows, evaluate what is and is not working, and document the design process.
  • Works with cross-functional leaders to allocate the resources necessary for the UX team to complete their work, for things like research and tooling.

Needs Analysis and Solution Matching

  • Looks for gaps and opportunities to enhance existing digital experiences, or create new ones based on data
  • Collects and analyzes customer behavior through studies, field visits, user surveys, interviews, online experiments (A/B testing), moderated and unmoderated tests, as well as heuristic evaluations for design audits
  • Ensures integration of proper UX Methodology for requests

Persuasive Communication Skills

  • "Sells" design solutions to the working team, and be able to defend design choices effectively
  • Works closely with different teams and ensure team visibility and transparency throughout the entire design process (from planning up to post-development).
  • Spreads UX awareness throughout the organization by partnering with other departments or reaching out to those in need of UI/UX audit for their products/services.

What we're looking for:

  • With 5 - 10 years of experience
  • Bachelor's Degree, open to any field of study
  • With background in User Experience, Banking and Finance, Digital Marketing, E-Commerce, Graphic Design, Multimedia Arts
  • Has experience conducting user research and testing Knowledge in UI design principles is a plus (with sample portfolio)
  • Familiarity working in an Agile environment
  • Ability to understand front-end code is a plus, but not required
  • Has good communication and presentation skills, and can defend designs to stakeholders and other departments
  • Knowledge of industry tools (Figma, Adobe XD/Creative Suite, etc.)
  • Can handle and analyze qualitative and quantitative data, and use it to drive design choices
  • Can adapt to change and be able to hit the ground running, with multiple projects and tight deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to learn new concepts quickly, and can coordinate multiple projects at once; comfortable with shifting priorities and schedules.
