What You'll Do:

  1. Concept and Product Development:
    • Innovate new recipes and improve existing products in alignment with market trends and customer preferences.
    • Collaborate with suppliers to develop recipes, improve packaging, and introduce new product formats.
    • Conduct kitchen trials to ensure recipes meet quality, consistency, and production standards.
  2. Market Research and Trend Analysis:
    • Monitor and analyze food trends, packaging innovations, equipment advancements, and competitor strategies in the food manufacturing and retail industries.
    • Use market insights to identify opportunities for new product development and commissary improvements.
  3. Testing, Implementation, and Scalability:
    • Oversee product testing in the kitchen and scale recipes for mass production while ensuring consistent quality.
    • Prepare product presentations for top management to evaluate and approve new concepts.
    • Facilitate the transfer of approved concepts and technologies to manufacturing and commissary operations teams.
  4. Cost Optimization and Process Improvement:
    • Evaluate production processes and recommend improvements to optimize cost, efficiency, and resource utilization.
    • Develop scalable production techniques that ensure profitability without compromising quality.
  5. Documentation and Standards Compliance:
    • Gather and document technical specifications, process flows, and food safety standards for all newly developed products and concepts.
    • Ensure compliance with food safety, quality assurance, and operational standards.
  6. Collaboration and Training:
    • Work closely with suppliers, production teams, and commissary staff to ensure smooth implementation of new products and technologies.
    • Provide training and technical support to operations teams to maintain consistency and efficiency.

What We're Looking For:

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Technology
  • 3 years minimum experience in product/recipe development, ingredients substitution, recipe reformulation, cost reduction, and food costing.
  • Demonstrated technical skills in menu development, sensory evaluation, food safety, HACCP and CGMP.
  • Strong project management skills in its entire component.
  • Ability to represent the company and negotiate at senior level.
  • Ability to work autonomously and generate engagement at a distance including outside of own department.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to absorb rapidly new information and change course.
  • Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office.

Preferred but not Required:

  • Passer of the Professional Food Technology Licensure Examination.
