HireKayana is a talent agency that connects Filipino Remote Professionals with global companies that operate within real systems and value disciplined execution. These are long-term professional roles—not gig work. Our partners build structured teams where accountability, clear communication, and operational discipline matter.

About the Role

We're looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join the mechanical engineering team of a US-based manufacturer of custom-engineered industrial equipment, such as ovens and furnaces. Every machine is engineered to order, so the work is detailed, standards-driven, and closely tied to how the rest of the team builds.

Projects come in waves, and instead of one engineer carrying an entire project alone, the team splits each design into defined portions. For example, you might own the heater box while another engineer works on the main oven body. You'll start with assigned drawings and grow into larger assemblies and more responsibility as trust is earned.

This is a real seat on the team, not an outside contractor role. The team works to written drawing standards, uses a dedicated CAD training tool, and answers questions quickly. They want someone who asks questions often and follows the process exactly before making independent calls.

What You'll Do

3D CAD Design & Drafting

  • Create 3D models and drawings in Autodesk Inventor for custom equipment, starting with assigned drawings and moving to larger assemblies over time
  • Own a defined portion of a larger design while other engineers work on the rest of the same project
  • Follow drawing SOPs exactly—correct view placement, dimensioning, and item descriptions—so drawings are right the first time and don't need rework
  • Set and maintain Inventor iProperties correctly, since they drive how drawings interact with company systems
  • Manage drawings and files in Autodesk Vault (training provided if you're not yet familiar with it)

Following the Process

  • Work to the established process from day one, without assumptions or departures from the SOPs; independent decisions come as trust builds
  • Complete CAD training in Productivity Now and take its technical assessment
  • Raise a question rather than deciding alone when something is unclear or missing

Team Communication

  • Ask questions often in the team's Microsoft Teams channel, and join calls and screen shares when a teammate offers to look at an issue
  • Speak up right away when something is missing, when you don't understand something, or when you've made a mistake
  • Check in frequently with your manager, especially during your first month
  • Stay in daily, even hourly, contact with the team through Teams and SharePoint rather than working alone for days at a time

Access & Confidentiality

  • Work through a remote desktop connection to a company-provided machine
  • Sign confidentiality and work-for-hire agreements, and protect proprietary design information

What We're Looking For

Non-Negotiables

  • Strong, current experience in 3D CAD design and drafting for mechanical or custom-engineered equipment
  • High-level proficiency in Autodesk Inventor
  • Working knowledge of Inventor iProperties and mechanical drawing standards, including view placement, dimensioning, and annotation
  • Detail-oriented and able to follow written SOPs precisely
  • Clear written and spoken communication, and honest about your skills and your limits
  • Experience working remotely in a team that communicates through Microsoft Teams and SharePoint, and comfortable with constant, real-time communication
  • Comfortable working through a remote desktop session, with reliable internet
  • Willing to complete a CAD skills assessment as part of selection

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Autodesk Vault
  • Curious about the work and genuinely interested in how other people work
  • Comfortable saying "I don't understand this" or "I made a mistake" so the team can help
  • Earns autonomy by producing work that matches the SOPs without needing every drawing checked
  • Collaborative and easy to work with, and enjoys being on a team that helps each other
  • Weekly Pay: get paid every week, not every two weeks or every month
  • 1-Year Travel Bonus: a milestone bonus we put toward a trip after your first full year with Kayana
  • Year-End Bonus: annual recognition for the year you put in
  • HMO Coverage: real health coverage for you
  • Paid Time Off (PTO): real rest, not unpaid leave
  • Paid US Federal Holidays: recognized days off aligned to your client's calendar
