Data Quality Engineer

A. Responsibilities:

  1. Work with business subject matter experts and data developers to create data testing strategies.
  2. Develop automated tests for data assets.
  3. Design, monitor, and maintain data quality reports, KPIs & trends for the internal data systems.
  4. Create data quality test plans and test cases.
  5. Execute and automate data quality test cases, and perform bug tracking.
  6. Help create and implement data quality processes and requirements.
  7. Analyze large and complex data for quality issues relating to uniqueness, completeness, validity, consistency, timeliness, integrity, and accuracy.
  8. Collaborate with data engineers, application developers, business owners, business subject matter experts, and data operations team to ensure the accuracy of production data pipeline designs and implementations.
  9. Support the development and implementation of data quality management policies and best practices for improving the overall health of enterprise data.
  10. Share Data Quality knowledge and best practices with team members and others throughout the organization.
  11. Maintain and apply a working knowledge of industry best practices, testing tools, and techniques.

C. Deliverables:

  1. Write data quality test plans and routines.
  2. Develop and maintain data quality reports, KPIs, and trends.
  3. Raise data quality issues ticket to the data operations team and clear open data quality issues once remediation is applied.
  4. Data quality metrics.
  5. Data quality ticket closure rate.
  6. Data quality enablement and empowerment.
