Location: Davao City

The OR Manager provides administrative support in healthcare facilities. This position will work closely with the Deputy Director and Executive Director to ensure the highest standards of patient care, maintain operational efficiency, coordinate with surgeons and anesthesiologists, oversee the scheduling of surgeries, and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  1. Responsible for patient schedules for admissions and surgeries.
  2. Responsible for scheduling surgeons and anesthesiologists, and coordinating their schedules.
  3. Reviews and finalizes surgery schedules before forwarding the list to the Deputy Director.
    • Weekly reviews: Surgery schedule for the upcoming week must be reviewed one week prior for approval.
    • Daily reviews: Approved schedules must be reviewed daily for any changes.
  4. Liaises with medical professionals and staff for coordinated patient scheduling.
  5. Ensures smooth patient flow within the OR in coordination with the OR Lead Nurse.
  6. Resolves issues or delays in patient care related to appointments, admissions, and schedules.
  7. Controls visitors, interns, and volunteers in the clinic and OR in collaboration with HR and Deputy Director.
  8. Coordinates with HR to ensure all doctors are documented and hold valid licenses.
  9. Coordinates with Social Work Department to verify and credential surgeons.
  10. Handles confidential information appropriately.
  11. Oversees quality activities related to hospital standards (e.g., DOH, SafeCare).
  12. Manages ancillary functions such as Laboratory, Radiology, Physical Therapy, and Pharmacy, including Speech Therapists under the Smile Train grant.
  13. Oversees biomedical needs and equipment for the hospital.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
  1. Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) or related field; Master's preferred.
  2. Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  3. Minimum of 5 years in an OR setting, with at least 3 years in management.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
  1. Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, sterile techniques, and OR protocols.
  2. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  3. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  4. Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  5. Relational skills to lead and motivate personnel, with sensitivity to cultural diversity.
  6. Proficiency in healthcare management software and EMR systems.
