Accounting Officer

Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate financial statements, management reports, and analyses as required by management.
- Bookkeeping and Record-Keeping: Maintain detailed and accurate records of financial transactions, including journal entries, ledgers, and reconciliations.
- Accounts Payable and Receivable Management: Ensure timely processing and payment of invoices and monitor accounts receivable, following up on overdue accounts.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in preparing budgets and financial forecasts to support strategic planning.
- Tax Compliance: Prepare and file tax returns in compliance with government regulations and monitor tax obligations to ensure timely remittance.
- Payroll Processing: Coordinate with HR to ensure accurate and timely payroll calculations and disbursements.
- Audit Preparation: Prepare documentation and schedules for internal and external audits.
- Financial Analysis: Analyze financial performance, identify trends, and provide actionable recommendations for improvement.
- Policy Implementation: Enforce compliance with company financial policies and procedures.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to ensure financial support for operations and projects.
Qualifications:
- Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification is a strong advantage.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or financial management, preferably in the construction industry.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and other accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar platforms); knowledge of local tax laws and regulations.
- Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail; ability to analyze financial data and create meaningful reports.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for report writing and liaising with other departments.
- Interpersonal Skills: Team player with strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Ethical Conduct: Demonstrated integrity and confidentiality in handling sensitive financial information.
- Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and handle multiple responsibilities effectively.
- Advantageous: Familiarity with construction project costing and inventory management; experience in implementing or improving financial systems and procedures.
