Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Video Editor at Republiq Group of Companies. The Video Editor will be responsible for video production, editing, color grading, motion graphics, and graphics work on a day-to-day basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Video Editing Tasks
    • Edit 4-6 videos per week (mix of short-form, long-form, social media stories, and posts). The volume may vary based on content production.
    • Ensure all videos meet the required specifications and creative vision.
    • Perform color grading, transitions, and visual enhancements.
    • Sync, clean, and optimize audio for high-quality output.
    • Add subtitles, captions, and necessary text overlays.
    • Edit primarily cooking/food-related videos but also adapt to other types of content as required.
  2. Collaboration
    • Work closely with the Creative Producer to ensure alignment on video projects.
    • Follow and execute brand guidelines, especially for sponsored content.
    • Turn over edits on time based on the agreed-upon timeline; failure to meet deadlines for brand collaborations will be considered a breach of contract.
  3. Post-Production Knowledge
    • Be proficient in Final Cut Pro for seamless collaboration on finishing touches.
    • Demonstrate a working knowledge of VFX and SFX to enhance videos creatively.
    • Operate After Effects for advanced editing when required.
  4. Equipment Handling
    • Utilize studio-provided editing equipment on-site.
    • Have personal editing gear if opting to work remotely for 2 days per week (studio equipment cannot be taken home).
  5. Flexibility & Availability
    • Be on-call for any urgent editing requirements or emergencies.
    • Work overtime when needed (overtime pay provided).
    • Be willing to go beyond the standard scope of work when required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1-year experience in video editing.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing a variety of editing styles.
  • Proficiency in Final Cut Pro and Adobe After Effects.
  • Knowledge of audio editing, syncing, and optimization.
  • Familiarity with VFX/SFX and creating visually compelling edits.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects with tight deadlines.
  • Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and creativity.
  • Pleasing personality and strong communication skills.
