Job Summary:

The Equipment Engineer for Test Handlers is responsible for ensuring the optimal performance, reliability, and efficiency of test handling equipment within the test operation. This role involves performing regular maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting to maximize the handler uptime. The engineer will quickly diagnose and resolve issues to minimize downtime, perform failure analysis to improve output quality, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement corrective actions. Additionally, the engineer will support the installation and upgrades of test handlers, analyze performance data to identify trends, and drive continuous improvement projects aimed at enhancing equipment functionality, reducing downtime, and improving yield. The role also requires maintaining accurate records of performance, maintenance, and calibration data to support ongoing equipment reliability and process excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Perform regular maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of test handlers to ensure uptime and maximize performance.
  2. Diagnose and resolve test handler issues quickly to minimize downtime and ensure smooth production operations.
  3. Perform failure analysis on test handler malfunctions and implement corrective actions to improve quality.
  4. Support the installation, buy-off, and upgrade of new test handler, ensuring compliance with safety and process standards.
  5. Analyze test handler performance data, identify trends, and define projects improvements of equipment functionality.
  6. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including process engineers, test engineers, PM/Line maintenance and production staff to ensure optimal test handler performance.
  7. Maintain accurate records of test handler performance, maintenance records, and calibration data.
  8. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance test handler efficiency, reduce downtime, and improve yield.

Qualifications:

  • B.S. Mechanical, Electronics or Mechatronics Engineering graduate
  • New college graduate with 0-2 years experience
  • Possess mechanical competence
  • Able to provide recommendations and solutions on equipment problems
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills
  • Provides maintenance and technical support to manufacturing
