GENERAL FUNCTION:

The Electrical Engineer is responsible for the troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of vital equipment and other company electrical facilities during milling operations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE POSITION:

  1. Graduate of Electrical Engineering and a Registered Electrical Engineer.
  2. Knowledgeable in conduits, wiring, and cable layout.
  3. Knowledgeable on the use of electrical equipment such as conduit benders, voltmeters, hook-on instruments, analogue, and digital testers.
  4. Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  5. Proficient in Microsoft software.
  6. At least two (2) years relevant experience.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE OF VITAL AND NON-VITAL EQUIPMENT:

  1. Carries out the preventive maintenance program of vital and non-vital equipment such as substation electrical equipment, control panels, motor controllers, and other control devices, AC motors, milling electrical machines, flour carousel, and bran packing machines, and all company electrical facilities, failure of which can hamper milling operations.
  2. Prepares reports on jobs done which need reviews and final check-up by the Assistant and Department Head.
  3. Assists in the cleaning of control panels and conditioning of electrical equipment and replacement of defective parts such as motor bearings and reconditioning of motor windings during plant shut-down.
  4. Conducts daily routine check-ups of mill electrical machines and equipment during mill operations and maintains flour carousel packing machine to tolerable output weights. Prepares feedback report and recommendations for the Assistant Department Head.

CORRECTIVE MAINTENANCE:

  1. Works side by side with the Plant Electrician during troubleshooting and repair of vital and non-vital equipment used in milling operations.
  2. In charge of the replacement of defective electrical devices, motors, controllers, breakers, and other equipment/parts used during milling operations.
  3. Prepares shift reports in the logbook detailing all plant troubles and works done.

OTHERS:

  1. Carries out jobs for new installations or renovations to improve milling facilities during mill shutdowns.
  2. Maintains housekeeping of the work area and general cleanliness of the electrical shop.
  3. Reports to the Immediate/Department Head within 24 hours any untoward incidents that occurred/witnessed within company premises and/or during working hours that might jeopardize the company and/or employee's operation/reputation.
  4. Performs other related tasks that may be assigned by the Immediate/Department Head.
