JOB OBJECTIVES:
As the Costing Manager you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the company's costing processes and ensuring accurate financial reporting. This position is responsible for managing the costing function, providing strategic insights, and driving continuous improvements to support the company's manufacturing, transport and logistics operations.

  • To ensure that the total company's plans and objectives are translated into working budget that is accurate, realistic and comprehensive.
  • Provide management with reliable and accurate product costing/production variance report in order to make pricing decision so as to achieve the company's profitability objective.
  • Design and devise useful key performance indicators which help management drive factory cost efficiencies.
  • Perform sensitivity analysis on product costing and gross margin for major fluctuations in foreign exchange rate or raw material prices.
  • Partner with the relevant department in checking factory variance report (raw and packaging materials, semi-finished goods) and ensure corrective actions are taken.
  • Ensure timely submission of accurate factory financial statements, variance analysis report, and cost center report (related to production, QA, and Engineering).
  • Ensure co-packing rates are reviewed and validated.
  • Review contracts and costing of OEM suppliers.
  • Ensure tight control and reconciliation of Raw Material, Packaging, Finished Good, and Spare part inventory.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare, analyze, and ensure accuracy of the Standard cost budget.
  • Ensure that the Standard cost budget is aligned with the overall company's plans and objectives.
  • Prepare, analyze, and summarize the product cost for the actual monthly book closing.
  • Prepare and ensure correctness of selling price calculations for local and export sales channels.
  • Prepare and ensure accuracy and timeliness of all other requests for costing simulations.
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of monthly reports submitted to Accounting and Logistics.
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of factory variance report and monitor that corrective actions are taken.
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of Cost Centre report submitted to Engineering, Production, and QA.
  • Coordinate with Factory planner, production manager, and monitor factory machine utilization (factory capacity), product overweight, machine downtime, etc.
  • Participate and review detailed costing in price negotiations with co-packers and co-manufacturers.
  • Compute/validate feasibility studies and/or cost savings initiatives as requested.
  • Monitor major fluctuations/movements of foreign exchange rate and raw material prices on product gross profit margin.
  • Ensure internal controls are in place and being implemented.
  • Ensure the accuracy of factory/costing data in SAP and updated in a timely manner.
  • Ensure the monthly manufacturing costing is closed accurately and on time.
  • Prepare annual budgeting related to production and engineering.
  • Advise Senior accounting manager on issues related to inventory.
  • Perform other duties that may be assigned from time to time.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Master's degree or CPA preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in manufacturing costing.
  • 1-3 years' supervisory experience required.
  • Proficient in cost accounting principles, budgeting, and financial analysis.
  • Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Proficient in using financial and data analysis software (e.g., Excel, SAP, etc.).
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or similar professional certification is an advantage.
  • Must have attention to detail with an eye for accuracy.
  • Creative, self-disciplined, and capable of identifying and completing critical tasks independently and with a sense of urgency.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Highly organized.
