Job Description
Job Summary
The Senior Biomedical Engineer is responsible for leading advanced technical support, equipment management, installation, preventive maintenance, and complex troubleshooting of medical devices. The role includes mentoring junior biomedical engineers and conducting technical training/product demo for customers to ensure proper equipment use and compliance.
He ensures that all medical devices are safe, fully operational, and compliant with regulatory and manufacturer standards across client sites. The position works closely with the Biomedical OIC and Operations Manager to uphold service excellence, regulatory compliance, and overall operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead installation, commissioning, testing, and calibration of medical equipment
- Perform and supervise preventive maintenance and corrective repairs
- Diagnose and resolve complex technical and system-level issues
- Provide advanced technical support to hospitals, clinics, and internal teams
- Assist in evaluating new products, conducting technical demonstrations, and supporting pre-sales activities when required
- Ensure compliance with FDA Philippines regulations, manufacturer guidelines, and company SOPs
- Prepare service reports, technical documentation, and compliance records
- Coordinate with suppliers and principals for technical escalations and warranty concerns
- Mentor and supervise junior biomedical engineers
- Support inventory control of medical devices, spare parts and service tools
- Work closely with theBiomedical OIC andOperations Manager for service scheduling, manpower allocation, and workflow improvements
- Travel to client sites as needed for installations and service support
Requirements
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field
- Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in biomedical equipment servicing or medical device industry
- Strong knowledge of medical equipment troubleshooting, diagnostics, and maintenance
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements (FDA Philippines, ISO standards is an advantage)
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and service documentation
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good communication and client-facing skills
- Willing to travel and conduct fieldwork
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
- PRC Licensed Engineer (if Electronics Engineer or related field)
- Leadership or supervisory experience
- Training or certification from medical equipment manufacturers
What We Offer
- P35,000 - P50,000 (depending on experience)
