Position: BRAND MANAGER – SCENTSMITH PERFUMERY (SPI)

Hours of Work: 5 full days a week – As required by the business

Reporting: Group Chief Operating Officer

Duties and Responsibilities: RETAIL & MANUFACTURING COORDINATION

Brand Profitability

  • Manages PNL and takes appropriate steps to manage costs.
  • Understands P&L and how to influence and manages profit & takes responsibility for the control of costs and expenses.
  • Shares financial reporting of sales and KPI measures.
  • Considers investment and performance decisions on real estate carefully.
  • Acts as the decision maker for the business with support and direction from GCOO.
  • Aligns all business activity through the eyes of the customer.
  • Sets and meets key business priorities for profitable sales, inventory control, business development, and people succession.

Brand

  • Sets and agrees on Brand strategy.
  • Executes against the agreed strategy.
  • Sets and agrees on appropriate pricing plans.
  • Understands & meets Contractual obligations in the commercial, legal, and financial areas.
  • Acts as the main Point of contact for the brand with all internal and external teams.
  • Cascades guidelines to wider teams and front liners across all business disciplines, setting out Brand Standards and expectations.
  • Ensures effective communication between all business heads to aid planning and execution.

Commercial

  • Upholds the DNA of the brand across all touchpoints.
  • Drives retail topline sales and meets or exceeds targets.
  • Drives brand profitability while meeting/exceeding profit numbers & KPI targets.
  • Manages prime and promotional trading effectively.
  • Sets and maintains high retail standards with VM support.
  • Sets and agrees on internal commercial inputs to drive profitable sales.
  • Reviews and evaluates product performance at style and category levels.
  • Develops e-commerce sales marketing activity and growth.

Business/Brand Development

  • Develops marketing plans and initiatives to grow brand awareness.
  • Works with support teams to maintain social media & digital activity.
  • Collaborates with the E-Commerce team to build online sales.
  • Expands profitable sales across all trading channels.
  • Enters new markets where applicable.
  • Builds relationships with suppliers and partners for new opportunities.
  • Aligns the corporate image across all retail online/offline channels.
  • Coordinates actions to improve performance and business growth.

Merchandising & Product Development

  • Works closely with Product Development to meet business and customer needs.
  • Ensures timely delivery of all merchandise.
  • Manages inventory effectively, including old, new, and current stock.
  • Develops the brand through inventory management and product performance.

People

  • Leads and manages teams effectively.
  • Is active and visible within each territory and location.
  • Motivates and promotes personal development and performance.
  • Develops succession plans for future leadership.
  • Coaches and develops operations teams.

Brand Manager role

  • Is a passionate and proactive senior manager.
  • Possesses excellent planning and communication skills with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Has effective brand communication skills with partners and principals, articulating strategy clearly.
  • Maintains the DNA Corporate Brand Deck for representation.
