Production Operator

Production Operator will be responsible for the operation and monitoring of all assigned generating units and their auxiliary equipment to ensure safe and reliable operations.

Assist in pre-startup activities for mechanical, electrical and instrumentation systems in accordance with SOPs and OEM standards. Perform start-up and shutdown of auxiliary equipment in a timely and accurate manner. Assist in functional tests of plant protections, standby and emergency equipment as part of preventive maintenance work to ensure functionality and reliability. Operate locally disconnected switches, circuit breakers, local controls, and resetting of protective devices and valve manipulations according to SOP, upon instruction. In coordination with Supervisor / CRE, perform generator purging and charging according to SOP for safe execution and economic use of resources.

Equipment and Process Monitoring

• Conduct routine inspection of turbine-generator and its auxiliaries including standby and emergency equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation of the plant.
• Perform minor corrective works for equipment trouble or abnormalities to prevent asset downtime.
• Assist the maintenance team and contractors in commissioning and testing of new and existing equipment undergoing corrective maintenance.
• Coordinate with Supervisor/CRE to maintain condensate pH within allowable limits through chemical injection in coordination with chemical laboratories.
• Conduct cooling water and condensate sampling when Chem-Lab personnel are unavailable.
• Operate lighting panels, disconnect switches, circuit breakers, local control panels, in accordance with SOP.
• Operate locally all electrical and mechanical equipment such as switchgear, MCC, switchyard, pumps, valves and other plant auxiliaries.
• Perform activities related to cold brine management as stated in the approved Joint Operational Guidelines on brine management.

Data Recording and Reporting

• Record readings of critical and non-critical parameters from field monitoring instruments in the log sheet for trend analysis.
• Ensure monitoring tools are updated timely and accurately for plant performance tracking.
• Report observed abnormalities on plant equipment and auxiliaries with recommended remedial actions.
• Suggest improvements to preventive maintenance programs and SOPs for efficient and safe operation.
• Complete the operator shift turnover checklist to document observed risks, abnormalities and deficiencies for proper turnover and mitigation.
• Attend team huddles at start and end of shift to discuss plant status, 5S, safety, health and environmental aspects.
• Conduct local start-up, synchronization and shutdown of the Binary Power Plant in coordination with remote operators, Steam Supplier counterparts and System Operator, as applicable.
• Conduct functional tests of power plant protections and fire fighting systems as scheduled.
• Conduct local operation of the binary power plant according to SOP to ensure safe and reliable operation.
• Inspect and perform preventive maintenance of all equipment (mechanical, electrical and instrumentation) inside the binary power plant based on OEM standards.
• Operate locally all electrical and mechanical equipment such as switchgear and MCC, switchyard, pumps, valves and all other plant auxiliaries.
• Perform activities related to cold brine management as stated in the approved Joint Operational Guidelines on brine management.

Safety, Health and Environment

• Implement safety, health and environment programs and permits to work systems.
• Observe safety and 5S to promote workplace efficiency and eliminate waste.

Qualifications

• Must be a Licensed Mechanical Engineer or Electrical Engineer
• With relevant experience in Geothermal, Thermal, or Energy Industry Plant Operation and Maintenance
• Preferably completed the APRI Cadetship Program
• One (1) vacant position available in Calauan, Laguna
