About the role

The Quality Assurance Officer (Credit) is a critical role within the Institutional Capital Reforms Program (ICRP), a high priority program that will deliver several major system and process changes in response to the requirements released by APRA under APS 112 and APS 113. The role is responsible for maintaining expected quality standards across ICRP Manila's functions and expected to work closely with the ICRP Team Leads to continuously uplift the credit capability and ensure that the team's decision-making and processing is compliant with ANZ's risk appetite, credit policies and process documents.

Role Type: 12 months fixed-term contract
Schedule: Dayshift

What will your day look like?

The Quality Assurance Officer will support the team in maintaining strong credit quality, through early detection of potential risks and ensuring appropriate quality assurance programs are developed and implemented. The role will also provide ongoing support through coaching by working closely with appropriate teams and being a subject matter expert in the processes relevant to our business. This role is also to take the lead in the oversight and reporting of all operational risk and compliance events.

As a Quality Assurance Officer, you will:

  1. Manage the governance over operational risk and compliance management including relevant reporting
  2. Provide advice and interpretation on policy through collaboration with the 1st and 2nd line risk team to ensure accurate and appropriate processes are adhered to
  3. Advocate the Quality Assurance Framework and Program
  4. Participate in, and contribute to, functions/projects designed for process improvement within Recoveries
  5. Identify opportunities to improve the processes
  6. Identify and report breaches
  7. Build collaborative relationships with colleagues and key stakeholders to enable goals to be achieved
  8. Provide ongoing coaching to the respective teams
  9. Ensure processes, policies and controls are in place for robust governance and meets compliance requirements
What will you bring?

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

  1. At least 5 years experience within the banking industry (specifically in credit risk and assurance roles)
  2. An understanding of credit policies and portfolio risk management (including knowledge of external ratings)
  3. Knowledge of loan facilities and collateral
  4. Experience in reviewing, preparing, or processing facility agreements.
  5. Ability to work effectively within a large and multifunctional program under tight deadlines
  6. Ability to both work independently and in collaboration with a wide team
  7. Excellent verbal and written communication skills (able to liaise with both internal and external stakeholders)
  8. Ability to work accurately under pressure with attention to detail, following through all issues to completion.
  9. Negotiation skills to enable successful resolution of credit papers/queries/issues
  10. Resourcefulness and ability to identify areas for process improvement
  11. Experience working in Agile delivery teams
  12. Experience testing and analysing business processes.
  13. A strong attention to detail and critical-thinking skills
  14. A growth mindset
  15. Tertiary qualification
