Responsibilities
  • Leading software development projects approved by the University; in-house or co-developed.
  • General understanding of programming processes and ability to assist the Software Engineers in troubleshooting application issues.
  • Manage the department's talents and budget, including hiring, training, and performance evaluation of staff and the acquisition of hardware and renewal of software licenses, hardware upgrades, and other related expenses.
  • Collaborate with other department managers on concerns such as development requests for new application features and functionality, access needs, security violations, and system access changes.
  • Work with University department heads on issues related to implementation of new technology and automation.
  • Stay current on product availability to meet institutional needs and propose new initiatives to meet the identified needs.
  • Design risk and disaster recovery plans and manage the execution when the need arises.
Qualifications
  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or any related field
  • Minimum of 7 years of Software development experience
  • At least 4 years of experience as a Software Development Project Manager
  • Familiarity with data privacy and security regulations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
