Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer with 4-5 years of hands-on expertise in open-source monitoring solutions like Zabbix or Nagios to join our innovative team. If you're passionate about designing, implementing, and managing enterprise-level monitoring systems that enhance reliability and performance, this is the perfect opportunity for you. As a key member of our team, you'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to take ownership of monitoring strategies and deliver exceptional value through best practices.

What You'll Do:

  1. Design, deploy, and maintain Zabbix infrastructure including servers, proxies, agents, and databases.
  2. Develop & optimize templates, triggers, and alerts to ensure comprehensive monitoring of infrastructure, applications, and services.
  3. Perform upgrades, migrations, and scaling of Zabbix infrastructure to meet growing business needs.
  4. Create robust monitoring frameworks and integration solutions (e.g., ELK, Grafana) to ensure operational excellence.
  5. Develop custom scripts, plugins, or modules to extend Zabbix's capabilities and automate monitoring processes using API and scripting languages (Python, Bash).
  6. Implement proactive alerting mechanisms for early issue detection and resolution.
  7. Work closely with various teams within Group Technology to diagnose and resolve incidents swiftly.
  8. Continuously analyze and improve the performance and scalability of Zabbix and other monitoring solutions.
  9. Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for monitoring configurations, troubleshooting, and best practices.
  10. Provide training to team members on Zabbix usage and interpreting monitoring data effectively.
Qualifications

Key Competencies:

  1. Expertise with Zabbix API and integrations with third-party tools.
  2. Proven experience in creating and optimizing templates, triggers, and custom monitoring items.
  3. Strong knowledge of open-source systems and network protocols.
  4. Experience with cloud platforms, containerization (Docker / Kubernetes), and infrastructure-as-code tools.
  5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Qualifications:

  1. 4-5 years of experience working with monitoring solutions like Zabbix or Nagios in enterprise environments.
  2. Familiarity with other monitoring tools (e.g., Grafana, ELK Stack).
  3. Experience with open-source database clustering, performance monitoring, and optimization.
  4. Certifications in Zabbix, cloud platforms, or monitoring tools are a plus.
  5. Experience in large-scale, distributed monitoring environments.
  6. ITIL Foundation certification is a bonus.
