We’re seeking an experienced and technically sharp Senior WordPress Developer to take the lead in developing, troubleshooting, and optimizing custom WordPress websites while supporting both new builds and ongoing maintenance projects. You’ll also occasionally assist with development work involving platforms like NodeJS. This is a client-facing role that requires strong development expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to handle multiple priorities effectively. You’ll work closely with project managers, designers, and other developers to deliver high-quality outcomes on time and within scope. The ideal candidate combines hands-on technical ability with strategic problem-solving skills and takes ownership of delivering outstanding digital experiences. Job Highlights Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM with 1 hour unpaid break | Australian Eastern Standard Time Work Arrangement : Work from home Side note: Since this is a permanent work-from-home position and an “Independent Contractor” arrangement, the candidates must have their own computer and internet connection. Key Responsibilities Lead the development and maintenance of custom WordPress websites using clean, scalable, and well-documented code Handle support tickets, bug fixes, feature requests , and enhancement tasks efficiently Collaborate with project managers, designers, and developers to plan and execute technical requirements Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across various environments, occasionally involving NodeJS or related technologies Communicate proactively with clients, project managers, and team members , providing clear task updates and progress reports Stay ahead of industry trends, tools, and technologies, sharing insights and contributing to continuous improvement within the team Support junior developers by offering technical guidance and code reviews where needed Requirements 5+ years of professional experience in custom WordPress development (themes, plugins, hooks, filters) Experience with ACF, Elementor, WooCommerce , or similar tools Strong familiarity with Git, SSH, and version control workflows Demonstrated ability to debug, optimize, and resolve complex technical issues efficiently Experience in an agency, support desk, or similar fast-paced environment Proven ability to task switch quickly while maintaining quality and consistency Excellent communication and client-facing skills — able to manage expectations and provide clear updates Comfortable collaborating across remote teams and using project management tools Willingness to assist with NodeJS or other platform-related tasks when required Strong attention to detail, time management, and accountability for results Permanent work from home Immediate hiring Reminder Kindly apply directly to the link provided; you will be redirected to BruntWork’s Career Site.
