MAIN PURPOSE OF THEJOB

To proactively drive and lead the establishment, development and

promotion of sustainable, innovative technology-based platforms

that will contribute to the country’s economic growth as well as

achievement of Seda strategic objectives.

KEY PERFORMANCEAREAS

Formulate and manage the implementation of Incubation

strategy and operational plan in line with Seda strategy.

Direct and guide the development of Provincial and Sectoral

needs assessments and business cases for establishment and

expansion of Incubation network.

Direct and guide the development and implementation of

interventions and support services to optimize and enhance

the delivery capacity of technology business centers.

Foster networking and effective linkages with various

stakeholders in the small enterprise support arena.

Monitor, evaluate and report on the Incubation and Technology

Business Centers performance.

Assure the embedding of risks, compliance and quality

improvement in all Incubation business processes and

systems.

Manage Business Unit resources (finance, assets and people).

REQUIRED MINIMUMQUALIFICATION

Matric (NQF Level 4) and a Bachelor Degree plus Honours

Degree (NQF Level 8) or Post Graduate Diploma (NQF Level 8)

in Commerce/Science/Technology or Engineering disciplines.

Master’s Degree (NQF Level 9) as added advantage.

REQUIRED MINIMUMWORK EXPERIENCE

8 - 10 year’s work experience in Incubation, Enterprise

Development and Technology Transfer of which 5 years’

experience should have been in Managerial role.

Direct experience in SMME programmes and / or related

development.

End – to – End understanding of business processes to enable

all SMME programmes at Seda.

Knowledge of all government Small Enterprise Support

Strategy and Programmes .

Successful track record in the implementation of the business

strategy and related policies.

Understanding of operations, finance and support functions.

Experience in managing transformation and change processes.

Knowledge and experience of stakeholder management and

partnerships.
