Tendering Manager

Job Summary The Tendering Manager is responsible for managing all activities of the tendering team, from the review of tender documents, to preparation of estimates and submission of project bid proposals, as well as the team’s performance and development. Detailed Job Description Coordinates with Business Development with regards to the complete submission of required tender documents, deadline of bid submissions and any special analysis on the complexity of project to bid on. Delegates cost estimation and scope of work calculations to the appropriate quantity surveyors. Monitors the process of preparing cost estimates, scope of work calculations, etc., to ensure quality output and timely completion. Provides guidance in resolving issues related to tendering that may be identified during client meetings, site inspections, etc. Reviews estimated price proposals, and checks the client requirements based on the issued tender documents. Reviews, evaluates and finalizes the bid proposal to ensure its compliance to client requirement. Addresses the concerns of project operations that may arise with regards to the quantity, materials considered and cost of the project. Oversees the induction, performance appraisal and development of the tendering team to ensure an overall increase in technical and behavioral competencies. Ensures that all departmental reports are submitted and consolidated on time. Attends project, corporate and client meetings to address concerns related to the department. Enforces the company and ISO standards in all departmental activities. Develops and/or revises processes and procedures as needed to improve the departmental operations. Plans and organizes human, financial and material/equipment resources to ensure maximum utilization of each that leads to efficient departmental operations. Maintains clear and open communication with all department team members to keep everyone updated on organizational and departmental objectives and initiatives, to address various issues and relay other important information. Develops and implements work programs in accordance to the corporate objectives to help the organization achieve its goals. Creates a departmental culture that inspires positive work outlook, work motivation and teamwork.
