Overview

IT Support Specialist

Position Overview: An IT Support Specialist is responsible for providing technical assistance and support to an organization’s staff or end-users. This role involves troubleshooting and resolving hardware, software, and network issues, ensuring that systems run smoothly, and maintaining the overall IT infrastructure. The IT Support Specialist plays a key role in ensuring that all technology-related functions within the company are efficient and functional.

Responsibilities
  • Technical Support: Respond to internal or external users’ inquiries regarding computer systems, software, hardware, and network issues. Provide remote and in-person support to troubleshoot and resolve technical problems.
  • System Troubleshooting: Diagnose hardware and software issues and take appropriate actions to fix problems, including repairing, replacing, or reinstalling components as needed.
Qualifications
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred.
  • Experience: 1-2 years of experience in IT support or helpdesk roles. Prior experience in troubleshooting hardware, software, and networking issues is beneficial.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux), software applications, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Familiarity with networking protocols and technologies (Wi-Fi, LAN, VPN, etc.).
