Reports to: Fractional Head of People Work Set Up: Work-From-Home Duration: Project Based (4-month term) Hours: Covering core Australian business hours 10–4 pm, flexible beyond that to have a 7.6-hour day Context about the Role: The People function at Slice Group is currently building a bridge between strategic scale readiness and operational cleanup. This role will sit right in the sweet spot of systems, compliance, and delivery muscle and will help establish scalable foundations with employees’ experience top of mind while ensuring daily operations run smoothly. Role Purpose: To support the Fractional Head of People in building a lean, tech-enabled, and high-impact People Operations function. You’ll handle day-to-day People Ops execution across systems, documentation, and compliance, while driving key foundational projects that prepare the business for global scale. We want to leverage technology and data to run smarter, automate wherever possible, and make space for the work that truly drives impact. Duties and Responsibilities: People, Systems & Data Management Audit and maintain the accuracy of all employee, contractor, and document records in Rippling Build out automated workflows for contracts, onboarding, and compliance Partner with the Fractional Head of People on Carta implementation, preparing data and documentation for upload Track completion of mandatory documentation (contracts, IDs, compliance, etc.) Ensure People‑Finance integration in Rippling (or another solution) is streamlined for payroll, benefits, and reporting accuracy Compliance & Employee Documentation Manage police checks, right‑to‑work verification, and compliance record‑keeping Support the reissue of updated employment agreements, ensuring accuracy and completion Maintain organised and accessible employee files in Rippling and shared drives Ensure audit readiness through structured document management and compliance tracking ESOP Administration Assist with cleaning up ESOP documentation, including resolving backlog Track issued grants and ensure accurate data mapping into Carta once liveWork with external partners or legal contacts as needed for document coordination Onboarding & Offboarding Program Build Help design and deliver a scalable onboarding experience Create templates, process guides, and checklists in Rippling or Notion Coordinate with hiring managers to ensure a consistent and smooth new hire setup Help build out offboarding checklists (systems, templates, etc.) to ensure streamlined delivery and the employee’s experience is the top priority Day‑to‑Day People Operations Draft and issue employment‑related documentation (contracts, letters, variations, etc.) Track employee lifecycle events (probation, contract changes, offboarding) Support payroll accuracy through system updates and improve automation between systems and the People and Finance teams Provide friendly, timely support for People Operations queries (we’d love to build our own PeopleBot for FAQs and quick answers) Reporting, Data and Insights Collaborate on building out our People Dashboard to track and report on key operational metrics (headcount, compliance completion, onboarding progress, etc.) Surface trends or risks to improve decision‑making Share clear, actionable updates with the Head of People Key Projects You’ll Drive Rippling audit and workflow automation ESOP documentation cleanup Carta implementation support Company‑wide reissue of employment agreements Police checks and compliance rollout Onboarding program setup and support Offboarding program and checklists Payroll and People Ops automation between Finance, Rippling, and Notion/Slack People Data Dashboard PeopleBot Requirements 3+ years of experience in People Operations, HR Coordination, or HR Administration in a fast‑growing technology startup Strong understanding of HR systems (preferably Rippling, but BambooHR or HiBob) Experience supporting compliance or documentation processes for global teams. Exceptional attention to detail, organisation, and follow‑through Comfortable working independently, taking ownership, and managing time remotely.
