Safety Engineer

Report to the Project Safety-in-Charge and provide full assistance to the Project Management Team to ensure that the company complies with the OSH&E Policy and act as deputy Safety In-Charge in the absence of his site Safety Head. Job Duties and Responsibilities Inspection, Monitoring and Surveillance – Monitor implementation of various safety programs and procedures at site; conduct daily surveys of construction operations to ensure compliance with client/government safety standards; revalidate and ensure compliance of work plan with issued Work Permit/s; determine the required minimum Personal Protective Equipment; coordinate with line supervision, employees and subcontractors of existing and potential hazards to OSH&E; candidate as OSHEMS Internal Auditor if appointed. Information, Education and Communication – Conduct Safety Moments in toolbox meetings; coordinate instructions cascaded by his immediate superior; attend applicable safety, health & environment meetings; assist in promoting OSHE awareness and conduct site safety training. Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment and Control – Assist Field Operation Group in planning, method statements and risk assessment. Reporting and Documentation – Prepare and issue Safety Inspection Report (SIR); prepare preliminary notification report for accident, near miss, and property damage and participate in investigation; monitor firefighting equipment and first aid facilities; participate in emergency drills and simulation. Job Qualifications and Competencies Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (any engineering course) Skills : Proficiency in safety procedures, communication skills, detail-oriented, data analysis & critical thinking skills, basic computer skills in spreadsheets, basic knowledge of Excel calculations and chart creation, advanced skills like pivot tables, complex formulas, Microsoft Office proficiency, basic driving skills. Experience: At least 3 years of Experience in OSHE. Competencies: Graduated 40-hours Construction Occupational Safety & Health Training. Graduated in First Aid Training, Scaffold Safety Training, Safety Lifting and Rigging Training, Root Cause Analysis Course, Train the Trainer Course, Appreciation Course on EHSMS, EHSMS Internal Audit, Safety Engineers Development Program (Safety In-Charge Training).
