Engineer Checker Piping Draft

Responsibilities Conducts initial review of bid documents, plans and specifications of a project prior to estimate and design. Conducts site investigations for projects which require site erection/installation. Maintains and ensures high accuracy of estimates and designs for projects under bid. Releases project documents, construction/shop fabrication drawings, material specification and unpriced Bill of Materials of awarded projects to authorized copyholders. Checks in detail, and with individual engineers/draftsmen, all mechanical/civil/electrical project designs, cost estimates, technical proposal submittals and drawings accomplished for accuracy and individual engineer’s technical involvement. Checks engineering assumptions/deviations in every estimate and accuracy of engineer’s material take-off and Bill of Materials. Coordinates with Operations Group and Support Group on the interpretations of engineering assumptions in the contract documents. Attends site inspection, pre-bid and pre-awarding conferences with the Client to clarify, suggest and make recommendations on project feasibility. Accordingly, provides full feedback to the Group Supervisor and subordinates for appropriate action. Conducts presentation of awarded projects on the basis of engineering design, cost estimates and assumptions. Trains and develops subordinates. Implements quality and safety policies. Qualifications Education: Licensed Civil or Mechanical Engineer with relevant training in Management. Experience: Minimum 5 years’ experience in Quantity Surveying. Skills: Computer literate in various detailing software such as TEKLA. Special Requirements: Knowledgeable in Local and International Codes and Standards for Construction, fabrication, rigging, etc. Willing to work beyond working hours. Demonstrates the ability to work collaboratively with the team and deliver clear instructions. Result oriented. Adaptive, flexible and with sense of urgency.
