Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Project Manager to lead and deliver data-driven initiatives within the banking sector. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of project management methodologies (Agile and Waterfall) , and be comfortable managing senior stakeholders, reporting, and communication in complex, regulated environments.

This role requires someone who is proactive, organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities across both business and technical teams, with a clear focus on execution, governance, and risk management .

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage end-to-end delivery of data projects in the banking domain, ensuring alignment with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Work across cross-functional teams (Data Analysts, Architects, Quality teams, and Business SMEs) to drive project milestones and deliverables.
  • Establish and maintain project governance , including project plans, issue and risk logs, and budget tracking.
  • Lead stakeholder management , facilitating regular updates, escalations, and decision-making with senior business and technology leaders .
  • Prepare and deliver executive-level reporting on project status, timelines, risks, and dependencies.
  • Use Agile or Waterfall methodologies as appropriate to the project or organization, adapting processes to fit both structured and dynamic environments.
  • Coordinate resource allocation, delivery timelines, and dependencies across multiple initiatives.
Required Qualifications
  • 8+ years of project management experience, ideally in data-related or regulatory projects within the banking or financial services sector.
  • Proven experience managing projects using both Agile and Waterfall methodologies .
  • Strong experience in senior stakeholder management , executive-level reporting, and high-impact communication.
  • Ability to translate business objectives into project plans with clearly defined deliverables and timelines.
  • Experience managing cross-functional data teams (analysts, architects, engineers, QA).
  • Familiarity with data governance, data quality, and regulatory reporting concepts.
