Position Title: INTERNAL AUDIT ASSISTANT

Department: Audit

Reports to: Audit Manager

Graduate of BS Accountancy. Preferably with experience. Job Summary: This individual is trusted to perform important audit work and is given full reign to examine, verify and appraise records, reports, systems and procedures as required by the audit assignments. His/her work is occasionally test-checked by the Audit Manager to ensure that he/she fully understands the audit phase assigned for him/her to review. In addition, he/she is given direct supervision over an Audit Personnel/Trainee.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Checks day-to-day operational activities of the Association in the Head Office such as the disbursement cycle and related controls; counter checking of disbursement vouchers, requests for payment and checks prepared; and ascertaining the validity and correctness of all disbursements made.
  2. Ascertains the Association's compliance to Manual of Regulations for Non-Bank Financial Institutions (MORNBFI) issued by the BSP.
  3. Reviews compliance to the Anti-Money Laundering Act (AMLA) and ensures training programs for employees to comply with AMLA obligations.
  4. Carries out periodic review and evaluation of extension office operations and performs specified audit procedures over loans, cash receipts and withdrawals, ensuring proper reporting and income recognition; prepares audit reports and discusses findings with the Extension Office Manager or Approving Officer-in-charge.
  5. Reviews Online Bank Crediting Enrollment Forms for consistency of member information and loan credits.
  6. Executes independent review of accounting systems and internal controls over the Association's departments to ensure compliance with standard policies and procedures.
  7. Assures adherence to business continuity and disaster recovery plans; inspects offices and trains employees in emergency preparedness.
  8. Determines asset existence and safeguarding against losses.
  9. Prepares comprehensive audit reports and evaluates subordinates' performance.
  10. Addresses questions from subordinates and seeks assistance from superiors when needed.
  11. Performs additional tasks as assigned by supervisors.
