See you at Maya About You Knowledgeable in designing, executing, utilizing and maintaining software engineering applications. Takes accountability when delivering results against a strategic objective directly supporting a company or business objective over a one to three year time horizon. Actively up-level engineering and partner functions through organizational, people, and process insights and initiatives. Ensures software engineering personnel is suitably trained to perform all job function and suitably use project and software related tools. Holds oneself and the managers reporting directly accountable for the inspection, oversight, prioritization and delivery of the results needed by Maya Drives the full talent lifecycle for your org, holding oneself and direct managers accountable for creating a healthy culture of support, growth and excitement that empowers our teams to deliver at a high level. Manages continuing support and provides system metrics for client facing products. Presents practical input for strategic technology decisions. Supports preparation of Technology Roadmap. Supervises reporting responsibility for independent software contractors, software engineers and outsourcing partners. Helps translate business requirements into technical needs and actions. Engages in executive-level communications and represents Dropbox effectively in external forums. Responsibilities Lead one or more cross functional engineering teams, focusing on financial services Drive the most important long-term priorities for the company that create the highest value for my customer Define the technology roadmap and high-level architecture for financial core platforms Design highly scalable, fault-tolerant, reliable transaction processing systems (able to handle 100M population / with 10K+ TPS) and properly respecting data privacy Attract senior and diverse talent across a broad range of backgrounds, experiences, locations to Maya and have strong followership across the company Closely involved in target setting, performance management, training and assignment of work for engineers Review functional specifications, design changes, choices of technology and/or tools, and assist in code reviews Ensure projects are staffed appropriately to set them up for success, placing strongest technical leaders where they are most needed and impactful Ensure the right balance of operational excellence, innovation, and speed across teams against company-level goals Implement industry best practices and technologies that drive exceptional integrity and robustness of transaction processing Navigate regulatory requirements like central bank or PCI-DSS for sensitive systems, infrastructure and operations Coordinate with senior engineering leads across the group to implement group wide initiatives Create an environment that fosters innovation, and helps team members take smart risks, own the outcomes, and learn from failures What You Need To Maximize Your Contribution BS in computer science or related fields 10+ years experience in system development (preferably Java, Golang) 3+ years in developing financial services 2+ years team management Track record in building highly scalable & robust financial platforms Experience with mobile money, payment services or related product development preferred Exposure to regulated environments in the financial sector preferred Experience in building teams Ability to lead a team to work on complex problems involving a broad range of technologies Fluent knowledge of current and emerging technologies with seasoned leadership on major project teams Excellent communication and people skills, with ability to work across departments and present findings to C-level executives Ability to pioneer new technical directions for projects critical to the company\'s success Expertise in management and deployment of cloud computing applications and infrastructure (e.g., AWS) Seniority level Director Employment type Full-time Job function Industries Financial Services and Banking Referrals increase your chances of interviewing at Maya by 2x Sign in to set job alerts for “Director of Software Engineering” roles.
