Your Role As a Data Analyst, you will interpret client data and other analytical data to create quantitative results ranging from simple data aggregation to complex data mining. Organize data in spreadsheets and other document types and demonstrate results of analysis in this documentation. Focus on a specific data set for multiple hours at a time. Review groups of vendor names and combine into like vendors. Learn a list of categories and subcategories and apply these to a list of vendors based on researching each vendor. What You Need Non-negotiables Has strong/advanced English communication skills Minimum 2 years of experience Intermediate level understanding of Microsoft Excel Ability to review data, recognize patterns and make organizational decisions from analysis Basic understanding of SQL, select statements, relational database structure and data types Minimum Education Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree from an accredited university in the fields of Engineering or Computer Science, Accounting, Business Administration Preferred Skills/expertise Proficient in English language Maintains a high sense of urgency and a deep concern over analytical errors Balances multiple assignments effectively Recognizes and prioritizes issues and engages team for input Approaches analysis in a logical manner Preparation & Organization Essential Skills Analytics Data Collection & Structured Analysis Develops logical approach to data collection; ensures data collection meets the timeline Identifies gaps in data, anomalies, and seeks clarification; surfaces concerns or issues immediately with recommendations Essential Skills – Communication Strong business communication skills (verbal and written) Essential Skills – Speed & Accuracy Seeks advice and feedback Minimal mistakes in logic and analytics Gut checks all numbers and totals for consistency and accuracy Has full accountability and ownership for accuracy and final deliverables Essential Skills – Problem Solving Understands key drivers of issues and develops logical approach to determining solutions to issues Effectively summarizes issues and proposes next steps for resolution Development of Powerful Insights Surfaces unique factors, patterns, and inconsistencies in data Develops insights and compelling anecdotes from the data Contributes as a team member to develop innovative and relevant conclusions from the analysis Essential Skills – Project Management Maintains strong organizational systems for files, activities, email, reporting, etc. Comes on time and well prepared to meetings Materials, thoughts, and time are all well organized and effective Personal organization contributes to project clarity and success (on time and on-budget) Proactively seeks ways to support team members when an organization is less than optimal Focus on Results & Accountability Fully understands project goals and proactively supports them If projects begin to go awry, approaches team leaders with ideas and offers to help About MicroSourcing With over 9,000 professionals across 13 delivery centers, MicroSourcing is the pioneer and largest offshore provider of managed services in the Philippines.
