Chief Technology Officer

Job Purpose: New Product Development (NPD) – Develop products as per customer’s requirements (RFQ – Request for Quotation, RFP – Request for Proposal) in timely manner as per customer schedules. This is done through understanding the customer’s needs and application engineering of available technologies to meet such requirements. New Technology Development (NTD) – Develop new technologies in products and processes to meet emerging customer requirements and achieve superiority in products in relation to competitor’s offerings. This will involve transfer of technology from collaborators or In-house development of new innovative products/process as an improvement over current available technology. This will include Intellectual Property such as patents, trade secrets. Design development in line with customer need: Managing Design centre for skill, technologies and innovation. Lead all Technical Centre functions (R&D, Design Centre, Test Centre for all customers and all segments). Oversee delivery of results as per functional requirements including timely New Product development, New Technology development, technology roadmaps, benchmarking, knowledge management, etc. Compliance control of management policies & procedures , TS, EMS, OHSAS. Role holder is also expected to meet the customer targets on QCDD, formulate policies for Technical Centre, undertake long term planning and support problem solving on current / potential issues Key Responsibilities: Development and Validation of Long-term Technology and Product Road Map for long-term co sustenance. Finalize long term plans for the Technical Centre, in line with organizational objectives, evaluation and validation of Technology & Product Roadmap. Finalize annual plans and budget for Technical Centre Regularly monitor target achievement and budget utilization for Technical Centre Patents & New Technology Skill development for design, testing and vehicle integration Customer management related activities including technical benchmarking, RFQ handling and response preparation for all customers Program management related activities including timely completion of NPD and NTD projects, timely QACM and customer PPAPs, initial flow control monitoring across all projects Thermal engineering related activities including system design & selection, HX design / selection for all projects Product design activities to meet vehicle packaging requirements and customer requirements for all projects Component design activities as per NPD gate control system Knowledge management activities through PLM system - ensure all drawings are created & maintained in the PLM server. Design policies related to this area and compliance to be ensured Design optimization activities through VA/VE and roll out & implementation of ECRs / ECNs Drive Cost Down of existing products via Design Optimization/Alternate Sourcing/Localization/VAVE Identify long term technological needs of the company via Benchmarking and customer requirements Development of new technologies & their IP-related aspects (patents, trade secrets etc) Transfer of technology; oversee maintenance, up-gradation & release of the company standards Product & component testing activities - Facility planning and management to meet internal customer standards Competency Building: Planning for people / Technical Centre Team competency buildup Technical Centre Policy deployment through Process deployment enhancement for continual improvement in design, validation & vehicle integration Risk Management of Technical Centre Qualifications B. Tech, M. Tech (preferred) in Mechanical Engineering with emphasis on Thermal Sciences Past Experience At least 25 years of industry experience with more than 15 years of experience in a similar role. #J-18808-Ljbffr
