Job Summary: The Collections and Patient Balance Specialist is responsible for managing outstanding patient balances, assisting with insurance claims, and ensuring accurate financial communications. This role involves contacting patients, processing payments, verifying insurance claims, resolving discrepancies, and providing high-quality service while adhering to compliance and confidentiality standards. The position contributes directly to the organization’s revenue cycle and patient satisfaction. Contact patients via phone, SMS, or email regarding outstanding balances. Explain account details, payment options, and insurance denials. Process secure payments over the phone. Maintain accurate account notes and documentation. Follow up on payment commitments and meet collection targets. Provide courteous and professional customer service while adhering to HIPAA and company standards. Process refunds, set up payment plans, and handle payment posting. Provide essential documentation, such as receipts, itemized bills, and account histories. Maintain office balance sheets and patient records accurately. Qualifications: Minimum 1–3 years of experience in healthcare collections, billing, or patient account management. Knowledge of insurance claims processing, patient balance management, and payment posting . Experience with billing software, EMR/EHR systems, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word). Strong communication and customer service skills . High attention to detail, accuracy, and problem-solving abilities. Understanding of HIPAA compliance and confidentiality standards. Ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple tasks effectively. Leadership or supervisory experience is an advantage for team lead positions. #J-18808-Ljbffr
