Role Summary

Responsibilities
  • Work closely with stakeholders to identify and verify functional requirements for applications, specifically addressing gaps that could be filled with customizations.
  • Ensure that all requirements are well-documented and aligned with data governance principles, promoting data integrity and compliance.
  • Create detailed functional designs for applications, including both individual processes and various development components based on specified requirements.
  • Confirm the completeness and consistency of these design deliverables to align with both business needs and data governance standards.
  • Actively resolve any inconsistencies discovered during the design phase, ensuring that all documentation and processes align with governance guidelines.
  • Conduct training sessions for end clients, including conference room pilots or user training, that emphasize the importance of data governance within the applications.
  • Participate in transitioning the designs to technical designers and developers, ensuring they have a clear understanding of the functional aspects and governance considerations embedded in the designs.
  • Provide ongoing functional guidance to team members involved in development and testing, ensuring that data governance is consistently applied throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Engage in quality reviews to ensure that the final deliverables are traceable back to the original requirements, thereby upholding data governance practices.
  • Validate that all outputs adhere to both functional and governance standards, ensuring high data quality, compliance, and security.
  • Facilitate the knowledge transition of functional designs to technical teams, ensuring they understand not only the technical aspects but also the implications of data governance practices.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Management, or a related field. Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CDMP, CIMP) is a plus.
  • Must have 3 years of experience in data governance, data management, or a related role
  • Hands-on experience with data governance tools and technologies (e.g., Collibra, Informatica, Talend)
  • Strong understanding of data governance principles, data quality management, and metadata management.
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience with data modeling and data integration techniques.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Nice to have experience with cloud data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Nice to have knowledge of data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
