Cloud Security DevOps Engineer

Role Overview We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Cloud Security DevOps Engineer to strengthen our security posture by implementing key security controls and processes. This role is ideal for professionals with a strong foundation in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Compliance as Code (CaC), and hands-on expertise in Terraform. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of security knowledge, programming skills, and DevOps experience to build scalable and secure solutions in modern cloud environments. Role and Responsibilities Design, implement, and maintain cloud-native infrastructure in AWS, Azure , or Google Cloud Platform using Terraform and other IaC tools. Drive automation efforts that improve efficiency, reliability, and visibility of security controls. Design and sustain automation solutions using programming languages like Python, Go, and Java to support security operations and infrastructure management. Oversee source control and branching strategies using GitLab or similar platforms to support collaborative development and maintain code integrity. Implement controlled and auditable infrastructure changes through structured workflows and versioned IaC practices. Automate security and compliance processes as part of broader DevSecOps initiatives, embed automation into CI/CD pipelines to enforce security best practices and ensure continuous validation of infrastructure and application code. Utilize configuration management tools such as Chef or Puppet to automate resource provisioning, enforce system configurations, and maintain environment consistency. Proactively assess, adopt, and integrate emerging technologies and tools to strengthen cloud infrastructure and advance security automation capabilities. Deliver clear documentation, technical guidance, and training to promote the effective use of automation frameworks within the Business Unit. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of advancements in automation, cloud computing, and DevSecOps practices to drive innovation and improvement. Provide guidance and support to junior team members, sharing expertise, offering feedback, and encouraging best practices. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology or a related field. Over 5 years of practical experience in DevOps, with a strong focus on building, deploying, and managing scalable infrastructure across diverse environments following security best practices. Applied knowledge of Web Application Firewalls (WAFs) and their role in the HTTP request/response cycle to improve application security and resiliency. Comprehensive understanding of cloud-native architectures and foundational security principles across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud platforms. Deep expertise in Terraform, encompassing module development, reusable architecture patterns, and adherence to Infrastructure as Code (IaC) best practices. Experience with Git and branch/merge strategies Experience in Python, Go, or Java, with demonstrated capability in developing and integrating robust automation solutions for security and infrastructure workflows. Skilled in leveraging CI/CD platforms to embed security controls into the software development lifecycle, ensuring continuous compliance and quality assurance. Hands-on experience with configuration management tools such as Chef and Puppet to enforce system consistency and automate provisioning across environments. Working knowledge of containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes for scalable deployments. Ability to assess, prioritize, and respond to risks and exception requests effectively. Demonstrates strong analytical thinking and a proactive approach to troubleshooting and optimizing security and infrastructure operations. Proven ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment, ensuring timely and efficient completion of objectives. Soft Skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills; capable of translating technical concepts for non-technical audiences. Proven ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams, managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
