Helios is a venture-backed, mission-driven solar start-up committed to making clean energy accessible throughout the Philippines. We are currently focused on solving the residential solar market's biggest challenges and are at a critical inflection point, moving from early-stage growth to establishing a scalable, nationwide presence. We\'ve built an initial team of dedicated professionals and are now focused on professionalizing our operations to meet ambitious growth targets. This role is for a leader who is not afraid to roll up their sleeves and build the foundations of a world-class engineering organization from the ground up, with an eye on potential expansion into C&I and utility-scale projects in the future.

The Head of Engineering will be the single point of ownership for the entire technical and operational fulfillment lifecycle of our residential solar projects. You will be a crucial member of the leadership team, responsible for establishing and scaling our engineering capabilities to support our goal of reaching 100 installations a month and expanding regionally. This role is a blend of strategic planning, process optimization, and hands-on technical execution.

• Strategic Planning & Process Improvement: Design, implement, and continuously improve the end-to-end engineering and fulfillment processes specifically for residential installations, from initial project design to final installation and after-sales support. This includes defining and implementing best practices for procurement, project management, and site execution.
• Technical Leadership & Expertise: Serve as the company\'s leading technical authority on all things residential solar. Guide the team on system design, component selection, and ensuring compliance with the Philippine Electrical Code and net-metering regulations.
• Team & Capacity Building: Lead and mentor the existing team of 4 (procurement, project management, design, and after-sales). You\'ll be responsible for scaling the team, both in-house and through a robust network of third-party installers, to meet our growth targets.
• Quality & Safety Assurance: Establish and enforce rigorous quality control and safety standards for all residential installations. Ensure that all projects are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest technical standard.
• New Product Development: Collaborate on the development, testing, and implementation of new solar products and services to expand Helios\'s offerings, including future exploration of C&I and utility-scale solutions.
• KPI Management: Be accountable for key performance indicators (KPIs) including the number of successful installations, turnaround time (TAT) for installations and other processes, and after-sales support metrics.

• A Professional Electrical Engineer (PEE) license in the Philippines is highly preferred.
• At least 4-6 years of direct experience in the solar industry, with a proven track record of managing various facets of a solar business from an engineering perspective.
• Deep expertise in residential solar system design, installation, and maintenance.
• Mandatory experience with Philippine electrical codes and net-metering regulations for residential applications.
• Proven experience in leading and building engineering or technical teams.
• A "hands-on" and entrepreneurial mindset. You thrive in a fast-paced start-up environment and are ready to tackle challenges head-on.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to manage both in-house and third-party teams effectively.
