Overview Vendor Manager facilitates and maintains relationships between the organization and vendors/partners, negotiating contracts, creating standards for the vendors, and finding the best available vendors. Vendor managers also cultivate and maintain relationships with vendors. Duties and Responsibilities Developing and sustaining long-standing relationships with company-approved vendors. Meeting with suitable vendors to assess their products, inquire about their services, negotiate pricing, and communicate any product or service-related concerns. Conducting research on available vendors to determine which vendors offer the best pricing and product quality. Continually monitoring sales trends to determine which products are more popular than others. Implementing vendor selection programs to ensure that the best vendors are secured. Conducting onboarding with vendors and informing vendors of their responsibilities and obligations. Conducting offboarding and knowledge transfer with vendors. Establishing standards by which to assess the performance of approved vendors. Evaluating current vendor management programs and identifying ways to improve them. Can conduct technology analysis, rationalization and positioning. Collaborates with vendors for go to market strategy. Ensures vendors comply with their SLAs and OLAs. Manage rules of engagement. Manage vendor interactions and promotional activities. Conducts vendor risk assessment and management. Conducts sales and technical enablement sessions.
