Overview

Vendor Manager facilitates and maintains relationships between the organization and vendors/partners, negotiating contracts, creating standards for the vendors, and finding the best available vendors. Vendor managers also cultivate and maintain relationships with vendors.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Developing and sustaining long-standing relationships with company-approved vendors.
  • Meeting with suitable vendors to assess their products, inquire about their services, negotiate pricing, and communicate any product or service-related concerns.
  • Conducting research on available vendors to determine which vendors offer the best pricing and product quality.
  • Continually monitoring sales trends to determine which products are more popular than others.
  • Implementing vendor selection programs to ensure that the best vendors are secured.
  • Conducting onboarding with vendors and informing vendors of their responsibilities and obligations.
  • Conducting offboarding and knowledge transfer with vendors.
  • Establishing standards by which to assess the performance of approved vendors.
  • Evaluating current vendor management programs and identifying ways to improve them.
  • Can conduct technology analysis, rationalization and positioning.
  • Collaborates with vendors for go to market strategy.
  • Ensures vendors comply with their SLAs and OLAs.
  • Manage rules of engagement.
  • Manage vendor interactions and promotional activities.
  • Conducts vendor risk assessment and management.
  • Conducts sales and technical enablement sessions.
Qualifications
